?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Agreed. I never really wanted him in the first place, and giving him a big contract is such a Neil Olshey move.

I wish we could as well. Unfortunately we can't lose him this summer for nothing or we dont his salary slot back.

Trade him later. Just make sure his 30 mil stays on the books now. Letting him walk would set us back quite a bit more than simply losing a player.

Let's say my hairbrain scheme happens and we add Bridges/Siakam and we re-sign Grant. How badly would we be in cap hell with Dame/Bridges/Siakam/Grant?

Not nearly as bad as you'd think. Bridges is the real steal that makes it happen because he's on lock for less than what Ant makes for 2 more years. Same with Shaedon on rookie scale.

Might need to pass on a MLE but thats OK. Would need to nail the C replacement at a minimum though

We all like to talk about Naz Reid. But I imagine a lot of people want that guy.

What if the cost of Bridges is also taking on Simmons:

Bridges isn't worth pick 3. So if they want to start tacking on extra bullshit that is bad instead of tacking on Claxton they can go fuck themselves.

    I would demand Claxton.

I get the hesitation on him being a free agent in a year. But an Olshey move? When did Neil get us this?

IMO Siakam is the perfect available piece at PF. But yeah getting an all-star to sign with us is risky unless he has been here a while. Portland grows on you but it takes a while.

I think a center that is available that hasn't been in the public domain yet is Jarrett Allen. His fit with Mobley got exposed in the playoffs. I also think they need some wing depth in his place. Some sort of three way with OG ending up in Cleveland and Allen in POR is my idea. He's a rim protector and strong roller/finisher and owed only 20 mil. Think he can work better than Nurk.

We also don't really need three picks in the late first round. If this was the best frameworked deal and the Nets refused to include Claxton in any reasonable scenario, I would demand that at least one (preferably both) of those added picks were a future unprotected Philly or Phoenix pick.

The idea there would be that #21 and #22 are determined value and once the pick is made the mystique is gone. However, those future Phoenix/Philly picks could be used in conjunction with PDX's future picks for big all-in move #2.

I think the "Jarrett-Allen-type" is what we've dreamed about anyway for the past several years anyway (that's all Claxton is, right?)... might as well explore the option of getting original prototype. I'm not quite as convinced that he is available in a non-overpay scenario, but it would be something I'd certainly check on.

not enough currently. Siakam is at 35.449M (37.893M next season)

    Simons 22.322 + Little 4.172 = 26.492 (rounded) X 1.25 = 33.1M +100K = 33.2M; which is 2.3M short. Would need Keon

    after July 1:

    Simons 24.107 + Little 6.250 = 30.357. But the 1.25 multiplier gets them there
