I would be shocked if Charlotte passes on him. Either they take him and trade him, or they take him and keep him.
He told Krysten Peek that he was bored with the G League and was excited to move up. Kinda wonder if he just stopped caring because the games didn't really matter. He knew he wasn't going to be the #1 pick. He had some really good runs, but he missed a lot of games. It's not like being in college where you're surrounded by all that school pride and team culture. The Ignite are just a developmental team. I could imagine being extremely bored.
I agree. However, I have a lot of friends and family who are Hornets fans and most of them are convinced that Miller is the way they are gonna go. I for one think Scoot would fit them best in what they are trying to do there. Most mock drafts I have seen is the Hornets taking Miller also. All conjecture from fans and media alike of course, but that is what I think too. Just want the draft to get here and be over with in general for us and everyone else lol.
I'll just repost this. Their schedule is super weird. The first 9 games he was pretty damn good. Then he missed a bunch of time (injured?) and had a bad run of 7 or so games, then he had another really good 5 games. So he showed that he can be really good, but he also had a slump in there. Not sure if he was injured a lot this year. I don't really understand the Ignite at all. Game 1 - 20 points off 9/16 shooting, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals Game 2 - 26 points off 10/13 shooting, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal Game 3 - DNP Game 4 - 21 points off 8/18 shooting, 9 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 steal Game 5 - 21 points off 6/16 shooting, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, 3 steals Game 6 - 27 points off 9/16 shooting, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals So for the first five games he averaged 23 ppg off 53% shooting, 7.2 assists, 5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. Game 7 - 12 points off 5/15 shooting, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Game 8 - 9 points off 4/13 shooting, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal Game 9 - 22 points off 5/14 shooting, 7 assists, 1 rebound, and 0 steals. Game 10 - DNP Game 11 - DNP Game 12 - DNP Game 13 - played 7 minutes Game 14 - DNP Game 15 - DNP Game 16 - DNP Game 17 - 20 points off 9/16 shooting, 14 assists, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal Game 18 - 10 points off 5/14 shooting, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal Game 19 - 14 points off 6/11 shooting, 9 assists, 9 rebounds, and 1 steal Game 20 - 14 points off 4-12 shooting, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 steal Game 21 - 15 points off 4/17 shooting, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 0 steals Game 22 - 14 points off 4/10 shooting, 4 assists, 7 rebounds, 0 steals Game 23 - 17 points off 7/19 shooting, 5 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 steal' Game 24 - 15 points off 6/16 shooting, 12 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 steal Game 25 - DNP Game 26 - DNP Game 27 - DNP Game 28 - DNP Game 29 - DNP Game 30 - DNP Game 31 - 25 points off 7/16 shooting, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, 0 steals Game 32 - 25 points off 10/27 shooting, 4 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals Game 33 - DNP Game 34 - 18 points off 8 /19 shooting, 16 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal Game 35 - 26 points off 10/16 shooting, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals Game 36 - 27 points off 12/20 shooting, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 4 steals Game 37 - 9 minutes Game 38 - DNP Game 39 - DNP Game 40 - DNP Game 41 - DNP Game 42 - DNP Game 43 - DNP Game 44 - DNP Game 45 - DNP He played the last two games 18 points off 7/12 shooting, 3 assists, 4 rebounds, 0 steals 12 points off 4/15 shooting, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 steal
I hope the Hornets pick him at two just so we don't have the chance to. Nothing against Scoot, he's just a short guard. Pass
Scoot has elite court vision and speed to go along with explosiveness at the rim. I think folks detracting from him don't realize how much easier scoring can be if this team gets out on the break a bit more. The effect of Morant on the Grizz was immediate and Scoot could have similar impact here. Ant and Sharpe could thrive in that system.
There is way too much smoke right now about Scoot. It makes no sense for Charlotte or Portland to be pumping this guy up, unless they're trying to drive up his trade value.
If Scoot is PTB 's guy, then they need to trade up to two with a pick or something. Can't screw around and roll the dice. If they dont care or have trades worked out for either Miller or Scoot, then roll the dice.
Scoot is the greatest thing since sliced bread. He might be able to heal people as well. If he drops to #3, the Blazers should be able to get an All NBA player, a supporting player, and multiple draft picks in return. Like an NFL QB draft trade. Has he been seen walking on water too?
This really is unnecessary. Obviously, he can be a bust, but his body of work and athleticism/work ethic/mentality aligns very closely with other superstar guards. Maybe it seems trivial to you, but trading the guy who *could* become the next Dame is a substantial decision to me. This a guy you could potentially anchor your franchise on for the next decade.
faster pace might work in the regular season, sometimes, but generally doesn't carry over to the playoffs. There are exceptions of course, but those templates (Warriors) are almost impossible to replicate this was brought up before in some thread here: * Portland was 18th in the NBA in Pace at 98.6 * for the 2 teams in the finals, Denver was 23rd at 98.1; Miami was 28th at 96.3 * for the other two teams in the conference finals, Boston was 20th at 98.5; Lakers were 3rd at 101.0 * for the other 4 teams in the semi-finals, Philly was 27th; Knicks were 25th; Phoenix was 22nd; Warriors were 2nd in other words, if you were going to rank Portland with the 8 teams in the conference semi-finals according to pace, the rankings would be Golden State LAL Portland Boston Phoenix Denver Knicks Philly Miami transition offense is entertaining but it's not often a template for real success. Sells tickets in the regular season, maybe, but not so much in the playoffs
As far as i understand, there really is no incentive to win. And the whole intent with ignite is to showcase guys in games that effectively don't matter. They all just want to end up in the NBA in a year or two, and results game to game don't matter. It's like AAU/ OTE in that sense, albeit with far better competition. Scoot sort of just shut it down after establishing his draft status this year. Shaedon did the same last year. Unfortunately, the system is built to allow this. Doesn't turn me away from him one bit.
if New Orleans wants Scoot as badly as the rumor, enough to use Zion as the bait, which team would be more likely to bite: Charlotte with MJ or Portland with Jody. Pretty easy answer I'd think
Please for the love of everything that is holy, do not let Scoot Henderson play a game as a Blazer. Draft and trade... fine (for something reasonable) Drafted at #2... fine ANYTHING BUT SCOOT
