What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Lol it’s pretty much the same as Scoots.

Howard Beck said the last two conversations he had related to the Nets were basically discussing:

    #3 + Ant for Bridges + Stuff

    Dependent on Scoot being there.

I have no doubt Bridges is our #1 target. I think all of our top options are dependent on Scoot being there, so hopefully Charlotte takes Miller. Maybe there was momentum on a Bridges deal and the NO thing got out because NO really wants Scoot?

My read on the NO stuff right now is this:

1.). The reporting seemed heavily biased towards NO trading with Charlotte.

2.) Most of the talk is NO trying to jump to #2 - not #3.

Might this be because NO got wind that there are deals in place for Scoot from Portland's side, and they prefer those other packages to what NO is offering? It would make sense given all the anti-Ingram talk from people familiar with Portland's FO. Now NO feels the pressure to jump to #2 instead.

Beck was kind of hard to listen too...hyper rambling makes me nervous

I really don't know how credible he is, but I was intrigued by two things he said, and you noted one of them:

#3 + Ant for Bridges + Stuff. The addition of Stuff kind of suggests it would be Brooklyn adding the incentive instead of Portland. It also seems to suggest talks have progressed quite a bit past 'no thanks. I'd really be curious what the stuff looked like

the other thing of interest was when he said if he had to guess he thinks Brooklyn will trade Bridges...maybe not right away, but eventually. Maybe #3 is enough to make it sooner rather than later

    Agree, it's obvious.

    Mikal and Jaylen are 1a/1b.

Okay Nate, how do we get Siakam without giving up 3 then?

    Marang called BI Big CJ.

Highkin doesn't think BI is viewed as a difference maker.

    Jones doesn't like BI.

I don't think the FO wants or likes BI.

I think if we give the Nets pick 3, pick 43 and a couple future seconds, we could move up to 2 and get this Zion trade done.

Trade Ant and pick 23 to Orlando for WCJ, pick 11 and Gary Harris who we send to NOLA along with pick 2 and Nurk for Zion.

Then we have Dame, Shae, re-signed Jeremi, Zion, WCJ and a bench of a re-signed Matisse, TPLME, pick 11 or picks we get by trading back. That is a contender plain and simple.

Would you trade #3 for Chet Holmgren straight up?

I think so. Chet is an elite prospect and if he was in this class would go higher than Miller.
