?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Ya taking Amen over Scoot would be super ballsy and not taking BPA. Scoot & Dame wouldn’t work especially long term though. So unless Miller is there and Hornets take Scoot I think we trade the pick.

    A few thoughts:

I would imagine Dame has a sense of the real, having conversations with CJ about how Zion would work out, how committed he is to playing basketball.
I wonder, did Dame have contact with Zion when he was rehabbing in Portland? Maybe there is already a relationship there.
Would this force Grant to play the 3?
Would be great to connect Zion with Barkley, share the story of his counsel from Moses Malone helped him loose weight to play and be more successful.

It was in the context of Miller being there.

I had the same thought about Dame having intel about Zion via CJ

I had no idea about moses malone helping barkley lose weight. I learned something new

Chuck talks about it sometimes. That it's because of Moses Malone that he had a career where he was an MVP and not just a guy who made a couple of all star teams.

Trading away Malone was one of the Blazers biggest mistakes ever.

Scoot need to ask Jordan, "Why the (#(k would I want to come here after the way you have run your franchise?"

MJ is coming out of retirement.

(I’m joking, but MJ would still be in the upper-echelon of SG/SF’s in today’s league. Maybe.)

    from nets forum, posted yesterday

    "My preferences for next year.

    1) if scoot is at 3… drive Mikal to POR on a bike. Fire sale the team and go all in on an youth movement
    2) Re-took around Mikal
    10000) Trade for Dame"

So the plan is to pass on the guy all these other teams wanna build their futures around? At least we will have something new to bitch about if he turns into a superstar, the Jordan and Durant bitch sessions are getting old.

That's fine. They'll still tell Michael who to take.

I went back and listened to Joe's comments after the trade deadline. Very interesting.

"Chicago and and I talk pretty much during every transaction window where it's hey if it becomes necessary um would you be open to this so we you know we kind of lay a real light foundation to where well I'll call you if things heat up kind of thing but basically trying to tee that up a little bit in case we have to hurry."

"Yeah it's really it's negotiable it's whatever we work out whether we change the protections um to a certain year and deliver it or whether we incentivize them somehow just to get the full pick back or it's really it could be a player it could be all kinds of different variations."

    Here's an interesting read.

"My projections translate performance in NCAA Division I and other levels to an NBA equivalent, then adjust for age and position to project value over a player's next five seasons. Lastly, I factor in ESPN's top 100 prospect rankings for the best consensus projection. (For more on how my projections work and past examples, see here.)"
