This whole toy gun crap Morant's camp is coming out with is fucking moronic. For one, I really don't think it was a toy gun. And two, he is still a dumbass for doing it in the first place when his image and his team was affected by the first incident. I have nothing personal against the dude, but in a general sense he needs to grow up, stop trying to audition for a remake of Boyz in the Hood, and understand how privileged he is to make millions of dollars playing a sport. Should get at least a 50 game suspension imo with the stipulation that if he does something similar again, he will be done. Might be extreme, but maybe he needs something of an ultimatum to get his head on straight.
Pretty sure the guys involved in the malice at the palace werent arrested but did longer suspensions different era where guns weren't an issue like they are today?
We saw a glimpse of a full length Glock in the last controversial live Ja video. I suppose it could be a prop, a replica, perhaps a BB gun, maybe an airsoft gun with the red tip removed. "obviously" a toy gun?? No no no, It was definately not a buck rodgers laser blaster kid's toy pistol. It looked very very real.
That was a scary situation. We dang near had a shootout in the DC corral. I'm pretty sure nobody got arrested or ticketed. I don't remember the suspension lengths. But I do remember Commissioner Stern cracking down hard on gun possession in NBA facilities shortly thereafter.
To be blunt, if he was not a super star and just another guy on the bench, the NBA would probably have booted him by now. I don't put any faith in Adam Silver at all to do the prudent thing here and tbh see probably like a 25 or 30 game suspension and a huge fine and Morant will come out with another insincere apology for his actions. Bets on how long till he does something stupid again? As I put earlier, hope the dude does get help but he has to take that initiative, not expect everyone to coddle him and do it for him.
