?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Why don't we just not trade for OG and use Sharpe from day one?

I haven’t been able to get more clarity yet, but my assumption is that it would probably involve unlocking and sending some of our future firsts to facilitate.

I'm on board, but think OG is leagues ahead defensively, and provides a better positional/skill fit for the team than Ant (who we would use in said OG trade).

    thanks for passing along.

that said, i think it's obvious who our targets are and what we want. just don't think our counterparts in the league will be:

    1) so quick to give us exactly what we want

    or

    2) will give us nearly the value we seek with Scoot off the board.

I got to this conclusion a few days back, but i feel like we all need to be mentally ready to simply take Miller and make maybe another move here or there around the edges. We don't control a whole lot here and negotiations can go awry.

I left Bridges off on purpose he’s the closest thing to a star (defensive star with good offense) available besides Zion that I would have to really consider.

Yuck… Bridges is a slightly better Robert Covington/Norman Powell… not worth a potential generational talent in Scoot or Miller. And he is only 6’6” which would keep us as a very small team. How do you not like Markkanan… he is a 7’ All Star PF with deep range and only 26 years old??!

Bridges is considered one of the top defensive players in the league. He’s head and shoulders above either Covington or Powel. I don’t dislike Markannan just like the prospect of the Miller or Scoot better and a lower cost. For me Scoot is Dwade esque I wouldn’t trade Dwade for Markannan at least that’s my logic lol

Because Markkanan's defense is garbage and he's only done it for one season. We also already have Grant at PF.

And how in the world are you comparing Bridges who is arguably a top 3 point of attack defender to Covington and Powell? What?!?

That’s fair… but Markkanan is a good young player.

The silver lining would be that whoever he drafts is usually the wrong guy.

We were all pissed that we couldn't get Keegan Murray but Sharpe has proven to be a much better prospect.

    We'll be fine either way.

he definitely helped us in the 06 and 12 drafts by taking Morrison and MKG instead of Roy and Dame.

You want to trade a top 3 pick AND Simons for a 27 year old who has never made an all star team… and you think that takes this team from bottom 5 to contender LOL

Bridges was good in BRK, but it didn't do anything to help the team win. They were well under .500. When he was in PHX, he was the 3rd/4th option. He is not a 1A.

It's obvious that you haven't watched what Bridges does very intently...

    You're right.
All-star voting is basically a popularity contest. Players who score a bunch are more likely to get into the all-star game. But there's a lot more to winning basketball than just scoring a lot of points.

All-star recognition is fine, as they are good players - but there's a bunch who don't play winning basketball (ie - Bradley Beal, Zach Lavine, etc).
