But I heard it was one of the most lopsided trades in the history of the NBA, no?

Anyone acting like they know what our team is going to look like when this upcoming season starts is pretty hard to take seriously.

So then you should never post any opinion on anything… I thought that’s what forums where for.

Thanks goodness he wasn't eligible for one, or else Olshey likely would've given him that as well.

Like 90% of posts in here read as more of a statement of fact… so everyone should include IMO at the end of every post?

Posting with certainty that we can't possibly put a team together that can beat the Suns is different than theorizing that it would be difficult for us to do that when we haven't even seen one move from a team that has been saying that they are going to try to make major moves and have major pieces to make those moves with. Go ahead and post your absolutes, forums are a great place to show your capacity to think with an open mind or show that you'd rather pigeon hole everything.

We very well may suck next season because Joe panics and makes bad moves to try and placate Dame. We may be at the beginning of a youth rebuild. Cronin could also pull off two or maybe even three really great trades, a couple of solid re-signings and one great role player signing with the TPMLE and that could make us a lot better than the Suns especially if Cronin pays attention to roster construction with an eye towards complementary pieces and not just stacking talent on top of itself that may not be as great as the sum of its parts.

I don't believe 90% of posts read as a statement of fact.

You can include IMO if you want. Or you can be ok people questioning your posts that read as statements.

Great trades benefit both teams. Often, one get the better end than another. This Suns/Wizards trade seems to make both worse

Just watched this. If I were a Suns fan, I wouldn't be excited, I'd be mad.

They have to hope a bunch of coattail riders come for the minimum.

The draft pick issues could be harsh.

but the results of the trade seems to indicate that this was done by someone who doesn't know how the CBA works or how an NBA team should be constructed.

the Suns payroll, next season, after the trade:

    Kevin Durant $47,649,433
    Bradley Beal $46,741,590
    Devin Booker $36,016,200
    Deandre Ayton $32,459,438
    Cameron Payne $6,500,000

(and I'm not sure Payne is still on the team)

if Payne is still on the roster the Suns have 169.4M in guarantees for 5 players. 169M will be a bit above the first apron

they have to add 9 players. They have a 2nd round pick so that would bump them over 170M and they'd have to add 8 more players. A veteran minimum salary will be around 1.9M next season

the Suns are in a really wild place right now. The owner didn't obey the first rule of holes and now he has to keep digging

I personally don't think it will have the impact that the NBA is hoping for.

I also don't think he understands the aggregating salary restriction correctly.... I believe the restriction only impacts the Suns (or team over the second apron) from aggregating (ie- combining Ayton + Payne for Embiid).

He stated that Suns could not trade Ayton for multiple players (ie - Nurk + Little + Walker), which I think is incorrect...

Oh they will be turning vets away. Other players would love to be a part of that roster.
