Giannis didn’t average 20+ til his 4th season. Dirk not til his 3rd season. Steve Nash did average 10 ppg or 6 apg until his 5th season. There’s middle ground between MIP and project in G League.
Good post. I disagree with many or most of your ideas of building a NBA team, or moves a GM should do. But I loved reading your feelings as a fan. Maybe you and many passionate Dame fans will be more happy stepping away from here and just watching the draft/free agency. This is all just a stupid game we follow, so it should be fun. If it's not, yes try to follow in a way that's more fun. Have a nice day.
I'm as big a Sharpe fan as any, but no he's not an average starter yet, he needs more years. Ayton is a video game addict. Siakam is fine but he's not pushing this team to another level, he could be one of the top4 but we need a 2nd 3rd level player brought in. The WCF team even without Nurk still had better depth. Sure top4 might be better, but not enough to contend. I'm hoping to eventually build for more than winning a playoff game.
Because he’s about $10m more than what I’d pay him. I would rather wait next summer to see what Jarrett Allen will command, which is very likely if the Cavs don’t make it deeper into the playoffs next season. Ayton is not a big enough of an upgrade over Nurk to warrant a $10m+ difference.
56% from the field 36% from 3 As a 19 year old that went from high school to the NBA. Was not talking about Sharpe
For me it did! Last night was just about perfect for me! Edit: I was confused by your poor conjugation of "don't". It does, indeed, usually work and it did last night. I thought you were posting after the draft, rather than making a general statement.
Excuse my limitations to the english language (my 3rd). Grammar is not one of my strengths. Personally, when I lower my expectations, I'm only lying to myself. Deep inside, I know what I'm really hoping for. I prefer Miller, Zion, Bridges over Scoot. But knowing there is nothing we could've done about Miller, how high the Nets value Bridges, and Pelicans' requirement of Sharpe (if true), I understand why Cronin did what he did
