?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

That's greedy as that porky kid in Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. Nets would want Amen. They hired his coach. I like this framework a lot but Nets would want the 4 (and I think that's an overpay). How we trade Ant and Nas to Orlando for #11 first and then use the exception to take back Bridges?

I think there are now three roads of possibilities our team can go down. Two of them involve our front office just loving Scoot so much (most likely too much but time will tell) that they can't let him go and the other is moving him for the best package that includes a second all star/superstar possible.

So we could just love Scoot so much that we youth rebuild around the back court of Scoot and Shaedon.

We could love both Scoot and Dame so much that we try to make a roster work built around a three guard rotation (four if we're dumb enough to keep Ant too). [I honestly don't know if Dame will allow the Dame, Scoot, Shaedon option be an option because taking the most valuable asset we have had in Dame's career and just trying to fit it in at guard with him and Shae would probably be what Dame was talking about when he said if the team goes young he's going to have that other convo with them.]

So I could see a youth rebuild being a viable option but I'm really hoping we maximize the Scoot hype in a trade for proven commodities who address our biggest roster needs.

    Defense across the board.
    Size.
    Playoff experience.
    Depth.

There's no way that we can get our biggest roster needs by trading Scoot, and moving the tradable players we have (Ant, Nurk) will be undercutting our depth (and size) issues.

Yes, if we can upgrade the entire roster around Dame then I guess trading Scoot makes sense, but since that's ridiculous, I think trading Scoot would be, too :)

I don't think it's ridiculous. We can't let NOLA have the value of Scoot and Ant for Zion. They can have Scoots value and then we need a way to reroute Ant to get his value from another source or recoup it from NOLA directly.

The way I see it is that I want Ant, Nurk and pick 3 going out. I want a role playing mobile defense first starting C and Zion in return for that outgoing package. We then would have a championship level starting lineup Dame, Shaedon, Jerami, Zion, New C.

We would also have a bench that already has Nas and Matisse on it because we own him via RFA... that really covers the wing nicely. We would need to get a backup PF/C with pick 23 or by using pick 23 and one of our TPEs... I really like Trayce Jackson-Davis he rebounds, blocks shots and scores really efficiently and moves really really well. Then we use the TPMLE on a backup PG like Javon Carter and we have a pretty fucking good bench rotation. If any of the guys like Mays, Keon, Trendon, Jabari or pick 43 pop then we're even deeper but Denver just won a championship playing three players off the bench and two of them were only averaging 15 minutes per game in the playoffs.

I just don't think it's ridiculous to upgrade our areas of need and have found your approach to this entire off season so lacking in imagination and frankly disingenuous when you say shit like "entire roster" when we most likely have Jerami, we have Shae, we control Matisse and these are really good and reliable guys, Nas has lacked durability but when he is healthy he's a very good rotational piece as well. So we just see this thing very differently.

We are losing two of our top seven or eight guys in Ant and Nurk, and we are giving up a likely rotation guy in Scoot for... one player? Two?

And then we'll be fine because we have Thybulle and Little? And that depth doesn't really matter because... Denver? Even healthy, that's a terrible defensive team, and when has Zion ever been healthy?

Sorry, but that is ridiculous. Even your desired scenario doesn't give us a good team.

I'm not being disingenuous... I'm being realistic. I know that some of you told us to wait for a big deal a few times in the past, but I didn't believe it then and I didn't believe it now. I know that some here would have been happy to give up Sharpe for OG (and filler? Maybe Ant?) last draft, but I thought it was a bad idea and it obviously proved to be a bad idea. It's not disingenuous for me to apply the same logic and assessment that I have the last couple of years as the team has floundered in spite of all the calls by some of you to wait because Cronin says he's not done yet.

So, Hornets have a choice between Scoot, Miller, and Zion. . And they choose Miller? Hmmm. .

What incentive do they have to leak out false info about them drafting Miller. Can someone think of a reason as to why? What benefit is it to them if they mislead the Blazers?

This doesn't concern me one bit. There's also tons of reports of how philanthropic he's been in the NO community. Also doesn't matter to me.

What does is his inability to maintain his conditioning even after reports of there being clauses his his max contract about weight issues. Also worrisome to me is NO wanting to cut bait right before his contract begins.

That gives PDX more bargaining power if someone really wants Scoot. Almost takes Charlotte off the table as a trading partner for teams if they are sold on Miller.

There has been news in the past he did not want to be in New Orleans. Maybe he is pulling a Ben Simmons or James Harden. "I don't wanna play until I feel like Zion." to escape NOLA. Before any trade, he needs to OK going to Portland and obviously check and recheck his medicals.

Then he should have a pretty good idea about living here. That could still be a positive or a negative, but that would take some guess work out of figuring out if he would leave town the first chance he had.
