Hoping our new coach does what he's hinting he will do. Put the kids on the first PP unit and give them a lot more icetime. Surely he doesn't think he can win a cup counting on Panarin who has proved he's a playoff dud. Kids didn't do much in the playoffs this year but I wasn't surprised. Last year they overcame being used like role players. This year they didn't.
Hired the pesky Peca as an assistant. Laf and Kakko need to make an effort to excel and play like #1s, would love to see that 104mph slap shot in a real game from Kappo and would love to see Laf show up in shape and with an extra step.
As I've said many times before. Kids like Lafreniere and Kakko who have been on the first PP unit and gotten 18+ minutes of icetime their entire career to get drafted 1 and 2 overall, can't just be played like role players and get no PP time by the dumb fuck Rangers and overcome it. It doesn't work that way. Like the Peca move. He's the kind of player that will be in both Lava's and Drury's ear about playoff acquisitions.
Laf has more even strength goals (44) than ZIB (43) from 2020-now. Give him PP time he could be a 30 goal scorer
I think they'll be given the opportunity to succeed but Lav has to take this team to the Cup immediately, there won't be time to hold their hands. I'm going to need to borrow your horsewhip to find the clowns who compared Laf to Sidney Crosby.
