What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

well, here's the thing, after you said the same thing about the meaning of Dame-->Scoot for about the 15th time this morning over 3 different threads, I just wanted to say something back because I think your assumption is very likely wrong. But of course I wasn't aware you were using an 'aloof' gauge...that changes things obviously

Scoot is not small at 200 lbs and a 6'9" wing. Whether or not he can guard a SG will have nothing to do with his size. He has the quickness and strength to be good defensively. ...., especially for the few minutes, he plays next to Dame. The guy is 19..........by the time Dame retires, he will be 22.

The one issue we don't have ... is about to be the one area we get better at this offseason.

    Absolutely fucking unreal.

"Hey Dame, I know you don't want a rookie and I know you want someone who will actually fill a need... but we got you a nice new backup point guard. How's that sound? Wanna stick around and mentor the kid even though you explicitly said you don't want that? You see, he'll help because we can roll with you, Scoot and Shaedon ... and bring back the 3G lineup again! Isn't that exciting?"

Wouldn’t be the blazers if we didn’t add at least 1-2 guards in the off-season.

I honestly think deep down they do. They just don't think Dame will actually request out.

Dame said he didn't want youth anyone under 6'4" is a small shooting guard... it's not even debatable. It would be putting a small SG next to Dame for the 8th straight season. We would also yet again ask a guy in Shaedon to play a position up to make this shit work. It's cool though, it's not like we've done this same thing before.

It doesn't matter though because Dame said he wasn't cool with youth and has no interest in mentoring any more rookies. He said Shaedon is different and Shaedon is enough. If we draft and keep Scoot, we will trade Dame... it will happen. That is just a prediction and not a fact but it's a pretty solid prediction based on all of the information Dame was kind enough to give us.

Which is like telling a guy that you respect, "Yeah I hear you saying that but you don't have the guts to do it." Dame has the guts to do it. He didn't and hopefully still doesn't want to but he is willing to have that "other conversation". He wouldn't put it out there if he wasn't willing and capable of doing it.

Yeah if any dude is “say what you mean and mean what you say,” it’s Dame.

I knew LMA was full of shit when he was saying he wanted to retire here. I have never felt like Dame was lying to us and I think we should believe him when he says what he wants.

I was removing the core injury season even though he did play in it but you would be correct.

What is the absolute best-case scenario if we draft Scoot and Dame goes with it?

Trade Simons, 23, Nurk(?) I would assume.

    Dame
    Sharpe
    ??
    Grant
    Nurk (??)

    Scoot
    Watford??
    Eubanks??

What do we get for Simons, 23, Nurk (and let's just assume we can unlock our picks from the Bulls)? And free agency?

Well one thing is for sure. I think the blazers lead the pack in this years lottery with wild trade speculations. Is it Thursday at 5 o'clock yet?

If we draft Scoot and don’t make a trade I put the odds of Dame leaving at 80%,

Not saying this is a great scenario but Simons/Little and picks for KAT. Send Nurk to Golden Stare for a re-signed Draymond. Use the MLE on BPA.

Is it our business that Brandon Miller may have been involved in a fatal shooting in college? Should we care when a player gets arrested, or stopped for a DUI, or beats his girlfriend? Do any of those facts have a role when considering whether to acquire a player, or are you just pissed that someone mentioned something negative about a player you would like to see on the Blazers?

If we got the number one pick, would you trade Wemby for Giannis?
