Miami has shitty assets for a Dame trade...real shitty Brooklyn's are a bit better but it would essentially be just dumping Dame for maybe Claxton and 3 or 4 first's 4 to 7 years from now
The Brooklyn package might be very appealing when the NBA enters the shaedon domination era... Not that I am advocating for such a move
Shit from Miami... not even trying to exaggerate, it would be totally shitty. Herro, fucking filler and sparse bullshit picks. Brooklyn could give us a ton of picks that could be really valuable in two years when Beal and Durant are totally washed. They could conceivably send us Simmons who could conceivably turn his career back around but at the very least has a contract that runs out season after next. Or just expirings from Dinwiddie and Harris. If we were smart we would insist that Dame would take Nurk with him and we would get Claxton. Also despite many saying it wouldn't happen, the Gobert trade from last year tells us that we could get the draft rights to the guys the Nets pick at 21 and 22 if we wanted them. That being said, let's build a contender around Dame, Zion, Jerami and Shaedon... please?
Now that Trent has opted into the last year of his deal, Toronto could conceivably include his salary as part of a deal for Dame. Would Barnes/Achiuwa/Koloko/13+future picks be an acceptable amount of youth/ assets to receive in exchange for Dame (if the F/O were to want to go that route)?
If Dame leaves, it won't be to Toronto. More likely than not that we trade him to a team he wants to go to like the Nets. Raptors won't even be in the discussion, but Barnes, Koloko, and Achiuwa are all players I would love.
Yeah, probably. They weren't one of Dame's destinations so I would still be shopping in the Nets' pantry to figure out what the Dame return might be but I wouldn't be mad at this... just really sad. I really wanted to go all in on Dame and still do. I'll be forever pissed at Joe that he never did what he said he would and put a competitive team around Dame and fuck the answer that maybe the trades weren't there because there had to be some trades that made us better than we've been and gave Dame a chance. All of this may be premature and maybe we'll have a Zion announcement very soon but it's looking like the end of the Dame era and that's a shame because he's the classiest superstar this game has ever seen.
I hope you're right but the aloofness of his most recent interview has me worried. I think if we're keeping Scoot there's no way that you're right.
I think if Dame had requested a trade it would come out from Woj or Haynes or someone else highly placed. Not this random dude lol.
as mentioned...Dame is in France right now on a vacation with family and was last seen wearing a Blazer jersey. How credible is it he asked for a trade from France and some guy nobody has ever hear of is the one breaking the story?
I think most likely this guy has a confirmed source that we are drafting and keeping Scoot and already had confirmed sources that if we draft and keep Scoot Dame will ask out. Or he's full of shit. So either he's being a bit presumptuous or he's full of shit. In any case I think he's trying to get in front of a pretty obvious story if he's confirmed that we are drafting Scoot. I don't know how anyone believes anything right now though because the whole keeping Scoot thing might still be just to drive up value in trade talks that are ongoing. We've still got 30 hours give or take before we'll be on the clock. Waiting to see.
