I think we trade the pick. If it's for Zion Brown or Bridges I'm ok with it. But I fear we will settle for a lesser player. My hope is I'm wrong and we keep Scoot.
I think LeBron and Draymond were pictured together in France too. Is there some NBA or Nike thing going on over there?
I don't think we trade unless it moves the needle. I feel we are going to trade for Zion and hopefully we get 14 back. I would love to somehow land Zion and Lively. I think that would be solid then trade for another piece with 23 and parts.
You think we can get Zion and something else? This reminds me of all the Blazers fans talking about how Cronin was going to make us a contender the month after Olshey was fired. Then we did the stupid Clippers trade for "flexibility"
I’d be ok with Zion for 3 and Allen for whatever it takes if we are determined to trade… Dame Sharpe Grant Zion Allen If they stay healthy that would be a very good team.
Would that even be good for Portland? Two older average starting forwards that are on expiring contracts? We'd have to give up Nurk and Ant to match. So we give up two average starters and the #3 pick. We get back an average starter and a slightly above average starter.
I like it when people refer to an all star and all nba player as average... that's fun. I don't know if that is ideal since we do likely have Grant returning but it beats having 4 of our 5 best players being guards.
Siakam has averaged over 21 points, over 7 rebounds, and over 3, then 4, then 5 assists the last 4 seasons. He put up 24/8/6 last season.! The 3 players that top those averages combined are Luka, Jokic, and Giannis. He plays above average defense. A 2 time all star and 2 time All NBA player. I love how people write that off as a slightly above average starter. If that's just slightly above average, then we'll never win a god damn thing with expectations that high. Gimme a break. If you wana complain about the contract status, that is 100% warranted. But the dismissal of some players on here has gotten comical lately
That's the thing, you can't give up the 3rd pick for a player that won't commit to staying with the team past this one season.
Agreed, and that's a totally separate conversation than, would we even be good with two older(OG is 26) average forwards.
2 realistic things that I would be ok with tomorrow 1. draft and keep Scoot 2. Draft Scoot and trade for Zion
If there was security with that move and we were adding those two guys to Dame, Shaedon, Jerami and hopefully still had enough assets to get a starting C to go with them then I'd be cool with it but there is no security so it's a no.
He's not average, but he's also not that great. He led the NBA in minutes per game the last couple of years, which definitely helped drive his counting stats. He also shot 32% from threes this year, which is gross. He also led a pretty healthy team to a .500 record in the east and a loss to Chicago in the play-in game. So, yeah, he's not average but he's also a guy that I see is overhyped because he plays in Toronto and was important in a title team four years ago.
30 years ago in Florence Italy I jumped a fence, dropped down a big wall and opened a side door to them crushing this song. With the given that they're not trading Dame, what I'd like to happen is for them to trade down and still land Jarace Walker and then trade Ant for OG to balance the roster out for Lillard's short term hopes. I think Walker will be a monster small ball 5 and excellent frontcourt glue guy winner alla Draymond. OG would round out the starting 5 with a solid defensive wing and give PDX a puncher's chance. I've little idea what they'll actually do, but expect a trade if Miller goes #2 STOMP
