What they do with #23 and Simons will be very telling.

Leave it up many Blazers fans to get overhyped about our players and get so over the top excited with expectations that they set that they’ll start to moan and groan when their over the top expectations don’t pan out like they like thought and start looking for scapegoats. It’s like looking at it like the glass is half empty than half full.

Scoot hasn’t played one second of NBA ball yet guys, let’s cool the talk about superstar and best back court in a couple years etc until we actually see it come to fruition in the future

Disagree 100% with this statement. The Blazers need to rebuild and this is a great start to that. This is the most excited I've been for the Blazers in years and if I was local would be buying season tickets. Will the Blazers be good next year (assuming Dame is traded), no. But it's time to let Dame go and start over and I couldn't be more excited for the Blazers to draft Scoot!

Do people think we are keeping Scoot? It seems like a trade would have been announced by now. I feel like this clinches a Dame trade if we don't trade Scoot. I guess Dame to Brooklyn for five billions 1sts.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results -- this sums up this pick if we TRY and convince Dame to stay and that is the truth

When was the last time we took a guy who is considered a #1 overall pick-level guy and then tried to convince one of the league's highest-paid players coming off his best season to stay?

I have no idea how you can say this is doing the same thing we've done in the past.

Jarrett Allen is 25 locked in at 20 mil per for 3 more years and fits the Scoot/Sharpe timeline. Pull the fucking trigger.

It’s time to get the grandfather deal for Dame, S@T Grant, and get Nurk the fuck out of here.

Time to finally clean the slate.

Trades are announced clear through the second round. So we don't know.

Considering we won 3 playoff games same as the Thunder the 2 years prior to tanks, I'm much happier with where we are at now.

If we can win soon with Dame then great. If not then we already have the best assets to do a rebuild with since Oden Roy Aldridge.

This is the best possible outcome! I’m seriously excited now!

EDIT: when I say best possible I mean for the entire draft; I am not a Victor believer. I think we got the best player in this draft.

I think the equation of Portland-takes-Scoot--->Dame-traded is a extremely questionable equation. Especially considering we have not seen what else Portland does with trades and free agency

I'm sure they are crying in their sleep at night because you gave up your tickets(I assume you know this is sarcasm).

More I think about it, I am all for a rebuild. Yes, that means Dame will leave but it is what it is. Every organization has to rebuild at some point, and if we have too it is what it is again. Will Scoot turn into an MVP candidate? Not saying that, but the kid has a lot, I mean a lot, of talent and him and Sharpe is a very tasty backcourt if you will. I have said before: I am all about the betterment of this team as a whole for the long term, not just the short term, and not just to cement Dame's legacy and getting him a ring.

People are being overly dramatic about how we have screwed Dame over, not doing what we said we would, etc. I am sure they have been trying essentially since before the lottery more than likely, to work something out to give him what he wants and that is not over yet.

But again, if we absolutely do not get the value for Scoot that I think we need, then Dame will be traded for some good building blocks for the future and I am fine with that.

Claxton and the Phoenix 1s and some Brooklyn picks will work. At least Dame will be with his buddy.

I think if Dame does go it’ll be in February; he’s going to want to at least test drive this talent

    I agree.

I know I've been perceived by some as a "trade Dame" guy... but while I'd be willing to do so in order to look to the future (especially not to mortgage the future) I don't think we MUST trade Dame. If he is willing to be an all-NBA player for the Blazers for the next few years while we continue to watch our young guys get better and, hopefully, the team continues to improve then that is the best of all worlds, and I think it's actually the most likely outcome at this point.
