Yeah, Miami would have to send Herro to another team for other capital and I just don't see how that dude has much value either. He's just like Simons.
Not even sure the Pacers would do this, but maybe. I still think this is the move FAMS Nurks contract is a big + Ants is Neutral/- Harder to move on from Nurks contract but a big like Turner would make all the difference to this current roster. Dame/Scoot/Sharpe/Turner Look how open the paint is when Myles stretches the floor from 3. That’s easy pickings for our wings to crash the boards.
If the Suns made that trade for Ayton I wouldn’t complain. If we get either of the two I’d be over the moon.
Anyone think Ant for a signed-and-traded Naz Reid would be a good idea? Just spitballing... Then Minny could have an all-Ant backcourt
Yuck. Can't see Phoenix doing that. I would not hate that, though. Not going to happen, and I'm glad. How long will people keep believing in KAT? Huh. Harrison Fucking Barnes. Dame's draft class. Kind of intriguing, as he's very switchable and has converted to a 4 in his old age. Not sure there's room for Ant in Sac, though, and it would be annoying to watch Ant playing for a good decade after Barnes has retired. Don't see Toronto doing that, and we're kind of set for swingmen. We need rebounding help badly.
Your argument for Ayton is the world is not black or white -- WTF are you spewing . I mean hell even Suns fans would agree with me that since Ayton has gotten his contract he has been kind of a bum and not to mention he thinks he is an Alpha -- well that dipshit needs to know that a true alpha comes out and gives it his all EVERY NIGHT . This is something he has not done so as of now unless he grows up I stand by my statement and right now there is no indication he has so again -- non starter when bringing him up in trade talks.
Re: the Harrison Barnes suggestion. Sacramento might be prepared to let him go if this is right: Conversely, maybe Green doesn't want to go to Sacramento and they like what we offer for him? Have to be a three-way, though, because with CP3 and Curry they've got little room for Ant.
Not really an Ayton fan... but I might actually be able to talk myself into it now. Ayton is such a gamble, but if you really want to 1) straddle the timelines; 2) rebalance the roster; and 3) give the team a higher ceiling (like or hate Ayton, it's tough to argue that his ceiling isn't higher than Nurk). Frankly, it makes some semblance of sense for the Suns as well... they turn one disgruntled player (how happy is he now that Beal has come to take even MORE touches away?) into two contributors on a team with absolutely no depth. I could actually see this happening.
You're kidding right? Turner is a better player on a better contract. No chance Indy even considers it though. They have a good backcourt, and why the fuck would they take on more salary for a worse player?
I'm coming around on Ayton. His 30M can be stomached if you have Sharpe/Scoot on rookie deals. I don't know what happens at SF. We're gonna still get creamed there, but I just can't image keeping Ant. Problem again - why does PHX do this? They have Beal, Booker AND KD. A short scorer who needs the ball in his hands is the LAST thing they need. But who knows, maybe Ishbia is stupid.
If the goal is to keep Dame around, I don't think that deal would do it my hunch is that Dame has enough respect and affection for both Ant and Nurkic that moving them for Ayton would not go over well. Ant for DDR would be much better on the Dame front and it makes sense in terms of roster balance
I think that's a fair point, but Ant does supply spacing and additional playmaking. I also wouldn't call Ant short. In terms of size, he is a fine fit with either Beal or Booker in the backcourt. Defense would be an issue, especially when playing with Beal, but beggars can't be choosers and Phoenix has little other flexibility. Nurkic is a reasonable and cheaper Ayton replacement, and even if they don't like Simons, he has a contract value that could be flipped.
