Oh no, I think Joe already knows that he's in a full rebuild because how are guys like Dame and Jerami going to feel when they see this and hear Joe talk about all of the teams that called with a very high value and many offers on pick 23. This fucking guy kept saying he wanted to build an experienced contender around Dame and with the exception of Jerami ultimately has only made moves towards a youth rebuild.

Yeah, I see that. Likely Dame is gone. We likely won't be resigning Grant. Nurkic needs to be moved. Simons might as well stay. Sucks.

You are being so negative about 3 amazing prospects we just drafted because of Dame… making it about one player over the team… it’s kinda weird. Don’t know how you can watch that press conference and not be impressed and excited about the future.

Honestly I'm sad about it but I've abandoned my sincere hope that Dame would play his whole career here and have a chance to win titles here. Maybe I'll be surprised but Dame and the value that he has just doesn't make sense on the roster that has been built. I don't want to have to watch Dame and Scoot try to blend playing styles that don't seem to work from my perspective and I don't want Dame taking away from the experience our youth need to get or the youth getting experience take away from Dame's chances to win big.

Dame is the greatest Blazer of all time in my mind but at this point a trade is necessary. Reasons for this include…

    Scoot’s Development

The cloud of rumors and negativity about Dames future here which must be a distraction

And finally that fact that running multiple timelines is stupid as fuck because you’re not committing full resources to either one.

You not understanding why Dame likely leaving this team makes true fans of this team unhappy is what is more than kinda weird... it's actually suspect and didn't CC just tell you he wasn't fucking talking about Dame. You're the one who is incessantly trolling people here about the fact that they feel loyalty to both Dame and the team.

Hasn't Joe "appeared" to be uncomfortable in every press conference? Maybe public speaking isn't his thing. I'm not reading into that side of things too much.

This is the sad reality that I just want to move past so I can fully be excited for the upside of what should be a roster filled with potential and a roster that should be really fun to watch. It will be a lot easier to stomach losses from a bunch of guys in their early 20s than guys that should be competing for playoff series.

Dude, he’s 33… he’s not gonna play forever, it’s gonna end eventually. Think logically about the situation… we hit the jackpot on a quick turnaround with the lasts 2 drafts. Makes no sense to throw that away to try and compete the next 3 years when there is no realistic path to a title.

They were in high demand but what better way to force Dame out of Portland than refuse to trade vets for our picks? Seems obvious to me that Toronto and New Orleans low balled us with the offers and the picks were worth more than what was offered...mainly due to medicals and the cost of risky trades. I think Joe got value with his choices and knows he has to pay Grant and a couple other vets to complete the roster and that rookie salaries are like gold with the new cap. They did due diligence in the trade market with the picks and came up with no trades...there was only one trade during the draft process..that tells you how valuable rookie pay scales are with the new CBA

I got the overwhelming impression that Cronin tried like hell to move Nurkic at the trade deadline. But nobody would return his calls. The other GM's were probably drinking margaritas while listening to Joe's voicemails.

Are you even reading the posts you're responding to?

It appears that you're simply spitting out canned responses regardless of what the post you quoted even said.

Great post… and no one ever talks about salary. Ownership knows they won’t have realistic shot at title, so why pay heavy tax. It’s unfortunate we got to this place, but we were gifted a quick rebuild with the last 2 drafts... time to move forward. The future is bright.

Yeah he did just have the best season of his career. So he'll probably have another season or two or even three at all nba level and will slowly decline from there to just all star level and then a roll player if he wants to be playing like both Kidd and Payton did when he is 40. Kidd won his championship as the starting PG at age 38 and Payton won his getting 24 minutes off of the bench at 37. Dame has the type of game where he could play as a high level starter at 40.

It probably doesn't matter as much though as it once did to me because he will likely be playing those games for another team. Dame's 33. CP3 is 38 and started every game he played last year for a team that had HCA in the first round. Steph is 35 and isn't showing any signs that he's on his way out and won a championship at 34 as the best player on that team.

They are great prospects. We didn't draft them because of Dame. I'm talking about Cronin's dishonesty. He should just come out and say he wants to rebuild and is doing that instead of being sheepish and evasive.

Lamenting over the loss of one of if not the best players in the history of our franchise is not weird. Hard to be excited about starting over and taking a spot in the basement for the next 5-8 years.

I don't think we'll be paying Jerami but we will likely get some value for him in a sign and trade. Jerami isn't going to want to be on another rebuilding team, that's not what he came here for. It would make no sense for Jerami to stay and it would make less sense for us to keep a guy at the cost Jerami will demand who doesn't have a ton of winning experience to impart on our young guys.

I watched an Iowa game, Murray has the goods. I think his game will surprise some folks. Decision making, court awareness, intangibles. He's not a high jumping, stop and pop, 3 point splat master like some other rookies people wanted. Kris's game reflects half court, grind it out, work on the fundamentals department.

I can both want the best for Dame and the team. It's possible to want both but know it's probably not going to happen together anymore. It sucks, but that looks like the reality at some point.

Where do you come up with this type of shit. You actually took time and thought that out and then said to yourself,”Yep I’m going to type that out”. Wow

It does suck no doubt. But at least, imo at least, we have a better base than plenty of other teams around us who are trying to rebuild themselves. Is Dame gone? At this point I would give that about a 95 percent chance especially as the vibe I got from Cronin is that he is at a loss far as how to improve this team to keep Dame(Could be reading him wrong).

Being a fan for this team for as long as I have, nothing really surprises me. But, I will be surprised if Dame is still here the end of this summer tbh.
