I find it more interesting that, instead of just saying he felt that way, he subtweeted Amick. He also left himself plenty of wiggle room in case Amick's wrong.
I don't think you're a huge Dame fan if you believe this. I think there is a way of coming to an understanding that Dame is right for wanting out and Joe was right for just taking BPA in the draft even if he knew it would likely cost us Dame because we'll get a big boost to our youth rebuild by trading Dame. Dame isn't going back on his word if he asks out, he's been disappointed by our front office enough times at this point that it's understandable if his loyalty has been pushed too far, in my opinion.
I never said he's right or wrong, just that the sense on both sides is not great. Of course it's entirely possible Dame recommits after talking with Cronin.
The Blazers lost leads and missed the playoffs last season because the bench was horrible. Now, the team has added Scoot Henderson, who's played 2 seasons as a pro with/against NBA-level talent, Kris Murray, who will be 23 years old when the season starts, a young player in 19-year-old Rayan Rupert who nonetheless will be an absolute pest on defense with a 7'3" wingspan and the heart of Pat Bev/Wes Matthews, and also have Shaedon Sharpe coming off his first full season in the NBA after taking a season off from basketball. Add a few good-quality vets/G-league players, and the 2023 Blazers should be one of deepest rosters in the Dame era, whose buggaboo has always been depth. The other thing past teams haven't had is a guard who will push the pace and make his teammates better. I believe Scoot is going to add this missing dimension, which we saw a little of when Josh Hart was here. I expect the team to be winning now.
You've made yourself perfectly clear at least seven times now and i obviously don't GAF about your opinion, thus "My opinion". Whatever dog.
I am beginning to not care all that much one way or the other tbh. I can see positives and negatives either way it goes. ps one less big swing to take: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...-collins-jazz-open-huge-exception-sources-say
I said it after the last game he played I truly believe it was the last time we see Dame in Blazer uniform. No matter how much he preaches he doesn’t want to leave it has to feel good when the NBA’s best teams are all wanting you. He didn’t have that in college, or coming into the pro’s. He’s finally being heavily recruited. That’s not why I see him being done here I think he sees the writing on the wall Blazers now have 2 players that the Blazers will not trade (Scoot and Sharpe). Besides himself those two are the only two assets that will get you an all star back.
everyone keeps claiming some mysterious all star could be had for both of them, i have yet to see an actual offer that returns a non often hurt player, i think jaylen brown was the only real option i saw that was maybe worth the two of them but there was no actual offer ever made. I'd imagine damn near every team wants dame in some sort of capacity so why would most teams offer us anything decent to try and keep dame here? Not to say trades aren't available but i imagine most trade offers from most teams are going to have us bending over backwards to try and get someone here thats a "All star/NBA", and I for one am not trying to make a trade just to make a trade.
Yeah I'm much more excited to watch Scoot and Sharpe next season and any other young guys that develop as well. The last 4 years have been shit to watch with little hope for the future. Dame had a few weeks that were real fun to watch in the bubble. Outside that we haven't had anything fun to root for since this team signed Melo. I welcome young players with a future regardless of the immediate wins or losses.
This was always one reason I think Dame voicing his displeasure and consideration to ask out so publicly was a bad idea and could create a self fulfilling prophecy. A team like Brooklyn had the exact player Dame wants here - but they see a chance of doing nothing and being able to acquire Dame. So why are they going to trade their star to us when we might trade ours to them? If nothing had been said publicly maybe they would have considered rebuilding around a different star PG in Scoot... but now they may prefer the chance to potentially pair Bridges with Dame.
Well if Dame leaves then I can see a up tempo type of team. I also see more ball movement without Dame also. Dame is great don't get wrong but I don't think the pace is where billups wanted it to be with Dame. Not saying billups don't want Dame to stay because that would be ridiculous statement but Dame has never really play with pace since he been here. Just saying a different type of game the fans will see if Dame gets traded.
