On ESPN today they mentioned on Friday it becomes more difficult to make trades especially superstars with big salaries? Is that when new CBA kicks in?

Maybe now we will learn the actual truth instead of all of the speculation and rumors.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Dame is gone by this time next week... even as early as middle of this week.

hopefully either front office tell dame lillard they have commited to the full rebuild or dame lillard says to the front office that hes requesting the trade

you have golden opportunity for the full rebuild with two potential all-stars in scoot henderson & shaedon sharpe who are 19 & 20 respectively, which means you can tank for a few years to add more talent with high picks and therefore make our future extremely bright and theres no way you should pass on that opportunity... we all love dame lillard, but theres no real possibility to contend and franchise should always come first

Still not sure if he can't be traded until 7/9.

There's some discrepancy about what kind of contract he signed, but it still seems like he can't be traded until the 9th.

"Our direction for the franchise? You show up, play good basketball, listen to Chauncey, and cash your checks."

I'm glad Cronin has so much patience to hold the hand of the guy because, man, the dude gets a lot of TLC for having won 22 career playoff games and being owed like a quarter of a billion bucks.

I'd be shocked. There's no way it happens that fast. Trade deadline? Sure it may happen. Next week, not a chance.

why not, its not like news that dame lillard has requested trade can hurt his value, cause teams will know regardless (either trail blazers will call other teams or other teams will call trail blazers and just the fact that they would be willing to negotiate, tells that he is available, simple as that... and it would be good for chris haynes to break the news, hes close with dame lillard and he would do him solid)

If Dame has made up his mind, which is very possible, he will probably just want to be done with it. I can't imagine he wants to put up with a summer of being asked if he wants out.

The guy said what he wanted. He was very clear.

The Blazers did what he said he didn't want.

He said he'd have a separate conversation with the team if that happened. It seems like he is now having that conversation. Will he ask to be traded ? I don't know. But Dame strikes me as the kind of guy who says what he means and means what he says. So if he comes out and says that he doesn't have an appetite for another 19 year old rookie, and that a youth movement is not his path.... that would lend itself to him asking out.

I think the framing from Haynes makes it a bit more ominious than this is. Our moves this Saturday will be entirely dependent on if Dame continues to be here or not. As a precursor to the opening of FA, knowing if he's in is essential.

It's also what would be prudent for both Dame and the team from a competitive standpoint. Dame's new team has the context for how they approach free agency and the same for us. I actually think that waiting and drawing this out would be incredibly foolish for our team. More time doing shit to try and please Dame if he ultimately wants out could result in lost opportunities for our youth rebuild.
