Westbrook's shot mechanics aren't bad, he just can't shoot. It's the guys who get overly hyped that often get the yips on their jumper. STOMP
He's atleast a full inch taller than Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell measured at 6'1.25 w/o shoes and had a 8'1 standing reach with 6'10 wingspan. Scoot is at 6'2.5 w/o shoes and 6'9 wingspan.
He gets into the lane with ease. Based on his highlights it looks like his wing span helps him finish. (when he is not dunking)
Right now, he reminds me of PG version of Anthony Edwards more than anything. Scoot has the same wingspan as Edwards despite being shorter, and both have physically imposing frames coming into the NBA.
Yesirr it is, happy that it was in our favor this time. It’s actually kind of lucky how we got. Shaedon’s physical profile is in the 1%, 6’6 in shoes, 6’11.5 wingspan, NBA ready body, 48” vertical. With his advanced scoring skillset at 19. Scoot is probably right around the top 5 athletically. Probably 6’4 in shoes, 6’9 wingspan, Anthony Edwards-type body in a PG, and probably between 42-46” vertical. These two could be one of the best backcourts in the NBA, physically only behind Green and Amen. Mitchell and Garland are probably the best backcourt that comes off the top of my head, but Shae/Scoot are more gifted athletically. Imo, whether or not Green or Scoot learn to play above average defense will determine who is the #1 young backcourt in three years. Dame being on the team plays into our luck as well. I would want nothing more than to have my backcourt mentored by Dame.
https://www.si.com/nba/hornets/nba-...oncerted-effort-to-force-portland-to-trade-up The Hornets made an attempt to force Portland to trade up. This tells me Scoot was the #1 target
I think Schmitz's #1 target was Scoot, and his #2 target was Amen Thompson. I don't know about Cronin.
It didn't hurt for Charlotte to try to do that... Portland should have been fine with snapping up Brandon Miller if he fell, crossing their fingers that Charlotte wouldn't take Snoop. It played out perfectly.
I've made that comparison in chats with my hoops friends. Both grew up playing Running Back in Georgia and bring physicality and extreme athleticism to the court. STOMP
Watch that video and read that article and tell me we didn't just draft our next superstar. I really hope he can get at least one year under Dame. I think it would help him a lot.
I wish we got someone as special as him that was a seamless fit but he's anything but that and you can't always get what you wish for. Oh well, we've got to wait and see how Dame handles this.
I just look at it as we get a do-over. What if we got Dame at 19 and we could have paired him with another 19 year old phenom? I'm so excited about our future. I get people are stressed about the present, and what's going to happen with Dame, but I'm so excited about building around those two guys and I really hope we don't do something to screw that up.
From the interview: "It was really funny because when I was there he received, the day of the interview he had received the DM the night before from Dame. So it was very fresh and this was a very exciting moment for Scoot. He showed me the DM and to give you an example of the type of respect that he has for Dame and the humility, I forgot the exact wording, but he used both names. "Yo Damian Lillard, my name is Scoot Henderson." Instead of just being like, my name is Scoot as if you should know who I am, he was like Scoot Henderson. Here is my name. And what I respect, he wasn't just like 'What's up' he asked a specific question about letting go of misses and when your shot isn't falling and being imperfect. Scoot is preoccupied with fear of failure and all these things. So I thought that was so interesting that he came with a specific thing." Here is the portion that was in the article: "But being so close to that goal is also thrilling to him. Around midnight the night before, unwinding after the Ignite’s game, he received an Instagram direct message from one of his favorite players: Damian Lillard. “Crazy,” Scoot says, beaming. He had originally reached out to the Trail Blazers star in 2021 asking for advice: “Yo, Damian Lillard. I’m Scoot Henderson. I was just wondering if you can give me some free game on shooting the next shot, and not worry about the last one?” Scoot was struggling to let mistakes go, berating himself, trying so hard to be perfect. Trying to be great. Scoot tries to play it cool when he reads Lillard’s response. “He was telling me that he messes with my game,” Scoot says. “He’s like, ‘I seen you play’!” Lillard told him to not get caught up in missed shots: “Shoot that shit like you know it’s going in.”
This kid idolizes Dame and I would bet that it's super hard for him to see all this drama going on. I'm so excited about this kid.
