Probably already did during the draft process and talked through every non-Scoot deal.

They have probably already discussed OG and Siakam to death over the past summer, trade deadline, after lotto and already know the price

If Ant has little to no value and the Blazers are keeping Sharpe/Scoot how can the Blazers add any starting level forward to this roster to get a competitive team around Dame?

Taking emotion out of it from a pure asset perspective it seems better to hold onto Ant for the chance his value is higher in a year, Blazers get something for Grant in a sign and trade, Blazers get a bunch of good picks for Dame, and work to rebuild this thing for a number of years down the line.

Yeah it will be sad as hell to see Dame go but I'm just not seeing any path to keep him happy here or have a roster that makes any sense.

Dames ‘Dream Off-season’ is to sign Draymond “Titty Bar” Green? Good old crotch kicking Draymond?

If Draymond comes to Portland I hope to see somebody wearing a Karate forehead wrap and belt with their Draymond jersey.

Maybe if he weren’t veteran status. If he takes veteran status money then yes, sign me up immediately.

Did you hear Cam’ron say that the reason Draymond punched J.Poole was because Poole was talking about how he (Michigan) got more action with Mich. St. girls than Draymond(Mich. St.). That Poole took jabs at Draymond basically about how he’d be traded or wasn’t going to get another top level contract. I guess this went on for a while at practices. Poole just basically talking trash to Draymond as if he was on the other team.

I hope we don’t overpay for Draymond. Of course you’d take Draymond even if you’ve disliked him sometimes or often. The very reason one dislikes him is the reason one should want him.

But let it be known that I’m going to ball up my socks and throw them at the wall if we sign Draymond to a contract that makes him feel like he can talk trash about it to Poole.

We want to make Dame happy, but we're also super picky about players! I'm sure we can get something done even after artificially limiting our own options!

Regardless of your wall or your feelings, getting Draymond would be great for this team. We have needed that edge for a long time and to instill his work ethic and IQ on those around him would be invaluable, regardless of whether or not it results in a championship.

    I think two things:

1.) Players have more value to teams that are calling about them.
2.) Teams haven't been calling about Ant.

Ant's value is quite different to a team calling about him versus a team where we call them about Ant. I read this as there's no teams that would value him enough to give the Blazers a call. If we offered him to teams, maybe we could get some value, but it's probably not as much as people think. Personally, I don't see the market for him. I've checked the status of all 29 other teams in the league and I can't come up with a good enough argument for any of those teams to give up any assets of significance for Ant. I'll eat my words if something happens and I'm wrong.

I definitely agree with the bolded part. I'm not sure what qualifies as "assets of significance", but I think we'll see Ant dealt within the next couple of weeks for something that is of greater value to the team than what he provides.

Well. John Collins was traded for cap and a second. I think Ant is worth cap and a few seconds. Or cap and a late first. My favorite scenario is using him to dump Nurk on the Spurs. Probably not what people are expecting, but let’s see.

Toronto if FVV leaves, Chicago if they rebuild, San Antonio if they want to get some scoring with Wemba (as well as they have cap room to absorb his contract).

I see plenty of teams where Ant could do well next season. The problem is how to get enough value back so the Blazers can come away with a starting forward? Maybe Cam Johnson in a sign and trade if Brooklyn is told the alternative is he goes to Detroit. That would probably require Dame convincing Cam to push for Portland as Grant pushed to come here. I'm not sure Dame wants to do that because it still might not be enough to meet his demands, as well as he is very close to Ant so he probably doesn't want to be directly himself pushing for moves that directly remove Ant from the team.

According to Highkins Ant does have value around the league and a friendly contract for what he brings...he's pretty plugged into multiple team reps. Teams are rumored to want to throw Sharpe into Ant deals and Joe said Sharpe in untouchable. Every GM in the league thinks they can fleece the Blazers to please Dame...that'll fade as free agency kicks in. Dame's short statement about Nets and Heat really fucked up Joe's leverage around the league...Haynes didn't help matters

So if Cronin can’t improve the team with Free Agency? Dame will ask for a trade. Is that correct?

Ant's deal was not smart at all. Good scorer but allergic to defense. He is a bench player, clearly, or teams would be calling to get him. Why didn't they let him go FA then match the top deal if they want him? Some things I will never understand.

Hard to say. Dame has yet to make a line in the sand like that. He said he'd see where we are after free agency. Who even knows what that means
