Speaking of... Why would you start FA on a Friday afternoon before a long wknd? Might as well have started yesterday.

Agreed they need to get this scheduled better.

I like that it at least is 6pm ET instead of the stupid midnight thing they had for years. So and so is having a dinner at midnight was ridiculous and 50 announcements going on until 4 am.

But yeah they can just adjust the moratorium so it ends 2-5 days after the 4th holiday is wrapped up, then have summer league. The opening of free agency discussions is one of the three big NBA dates on the calendar along with the draft and trade deadline. Just having it fixed to always on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon would be best.

I have places to be. Dinner plans and all, FA will take a backseat unfortunately. 6pm local time not ideal for me to refresh twitter.

All these channels with special broadcasts planned will not get the viewership they are hoping for

It's odd that we haven't been tied to almost anyone. Have a feeling we already have our MLE agreement in place and it's a player that doesn't have many suitors.

    Candidates:

    Kelly Oubre
    Mason Plumlee
    Dwight Powell
    Georges Niang
    Jeff Green
    Jalen McDaniels

Or we're going dumpster diving after all the dominoes fall. I'm sure that will keep Dame.

I'm not an Oubre fan but Dame has recruited him in the past. He's a really good player if he could just play a 3&D role, attack closeouts, not need the ball, etc. Not confident he'd accept that role though.

Getting Oubre would put POR in contention for best looking team again

I'd suspect it Oubre, he's got talent at a position of need and a close friend of Dame. Unfortunately he does nothing to help the defense, but whatever.

Supposedly Clippers want to resign Plumlee possibly to start and ship out Zubac.

With these Derrick Jones Jr and GPII announcements for the full hard cap MLE in prior season I'm a little worried us fans are about to be smacked in the head with a 2x4.

He can do a 3 and _ role just fine. I'm not really worried about this roster contending so defense I guess is whatever. Having some good offensive guys will make the Scoot/Sharpe minutes much more fun. Also have some flexibility to still retain a lot of scoring on the roster if there is ever a big trade such as Ant for an elite defensive player during the season or such.

I always look forward to free agency over the long 4th of July weekend. Don't try to ruin that for me.

Ugh. Oubre would be such a shit addition. He takes way too many shots and acts like a moron. Dude shot 31.9% from threes last year with over 7 attempts a game. Terrible.

And while he has a big wingspan (7'2.25") , he's not even 6'7" in shoes... adding a chucker who doesn't add size to this team when we should already have enough scoring with Dame and Grant and Ant and Nurk and Sharpe... that would not be pleasing to me.

This is true. He's got this weird obsession with the song "Cotton Eye Joe." It's like he's lost his mind or something. He plays it everywhere, annoying the hell out of his teammates. Picture a bunch of guys trying to focus, and all they hear is that banjo-driven tune on repeat, driving them insane. They've tried everything to get him to stop, offering him anything just to change his musical obsession. But he's relentless, singing and dancing like it's the greatest thing ever. So, his teammates are stuck with earplugs, desperately trying to escape Oubre's never-ending serenade. It's become a cautionary tale of how one player's annoying taste in music can push even the most patient teammates to the edge. Oubre, man, what a moron.

    Are these guys really "dominoes"???

I'll take McDaniels out of that group.

The "dominoes" was referring to us going dumpster diving for minimums after most of the good FAs are gone, and we don't have any real targets lined up.

I get that. You said "or we're going dumpster diving", suggesting that your original list was dominoes, not dumpster fodder...
