PA is probably turning over in his grave today. Sad to see it happen but I don't really blame Dame. Better get a haul for real. Somebody else needs to buy the team though. What a joke. I'll probably tune back in once the rookies have a few NBA games under their belt. For now, I'm pretty disgusted. Off-season isn't over as moves are obviously coming, so I guess we'll see.
I'm going to miss Dame, but its for the best. When I saw the current roster it made now sense keeping him. Just get the best deal for the franchise please
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call "The Twilight Zone".
We have to accept reality. I love Dame as much as anyone, but we were at a crossroads. I disagreed with Cronin’s approach that we could rebuild on the fly. We had to choose a path, but Dame made the decision for us. This will accelerate our rebuild and I’m optimistic about our future. Summer League is going to be fun.
Sure, understood. But as they say, it takes years to build a reputation, seconds to destroy it. Great player forever, but he lost the loyalty reputation.
Well…. Like I said yesterday and some people wanted to argue… signing Grant didn’t mean shit for keeping Dame happy. Grant was chasing his money and wanted his biggest deal. Didn’t matter where it came from.
The brightside is with Dame we were a fringe playoff (or play-in team) and without him we probably won't be good at all, like another top draft pick good while hoping to see more growth from Sharpe and seeing good things from Scoot
Dude, ownership and front office forced him out. Dame didn't do anything wrong at all. He asked for the bare minimum and they wouldn't spend the money to put a team around him. He deserves a bigger stage.
Why not? They both built through the draft and made smart moves. Denver dumped Iverson, Melo and Iggy to go through the patient youth movement. Luck is a part of it (Jokic and Giannis), but we also got lucky with Shaedon and Scoot. The parallels are obvious to me.
Drafting Scoot was a direct shot and then Joe said he would push all of our chips in around Dame again. This isn't Dame this was Joe not having it in him to be honest and forcing Dame's hand. When you are person like Dame with so much loyalty and are facing people who are disloyal to you, I don't think it's reasonable to treat disloyalty with continued loyalty. Dame said well in advance of the draft what needed to happen and the team did the opposite. Dame didn't want it to go this way, the team did.
Jovic/Jaquez/Herro/Salary Filler/2 1s/2 swaps That’s my guess and I’m not happy. Anything less will make me puke. I do think Herro is shipped somewhere else immediately.
Maybe now people will always believe actions over words. When almost every move in the past year has been cutting costs and getting younger - even though Cronin kept saying we’re building around Dame….
At least we don’t have to worry about removing the protective from the Chicago pick. Won’t be seeing the playoffs anytime soon
I’ll watch Dame a bit and definitely in the playoffs. His new team is not my favorite. Best deal for Portland to a team that gives him “a shot” after the trade. Brooklyn — Nurkic into their new TPE. Simmons + Claxton + maximum AND best picks. If possible, dueling sign and trades of Grant and CamThomas.
Same. That's a bitch move. I will root against Miami for sure if that's how this goes. Nurk's emotional ass better go with him too.
