I disagree, it is just taking longer because the cancer was so bad that it will take time to restructure the roster. Either way, I will remember his stint fondly, but it's time to go forward.

    that makes no sense

teams can carry 20 players under contract in the off-season. Portland has 7 or 8 now depending on if you count Grant. Blazers weren't going to trade Dame for 14 players

Is this another tank season for Chauncey? He started with Dame and CJ and now both are gone

For the first (and last) time ever I wish Daryl Morey were our GM. That motherfucker knows how to hold out for a good deal when a player demands a trade. (Glossing over the part where his key acquisition then also demands a trade about 6 months later...)

I don't see him ever having a winning season coaching here.

Watford had to be cut yesterday or his money was guaranteed. Decision had to be made.

Every time he could (besides with Jerami) Joe has punted. A day or two after Dame is gone I will move on to being excited about our young team and all of the fun we will have watching them but right now I'm pissed because Joe said one thing and did another over and over again, ultimately to force his way to the easy road.

Chauncey is a happy man today. Stress level plummeted. Pressure? What pressure? Wins? You see the toddlers I'm dealing with here? Playoffs?

Look the NBA is a business. Its looking like the money given to Grant is small compared to some of the new contracts. Look Dame has always been sure to get his money. If he wanted to he could have taken less money in his last contract or spread it out to get money available for good players. So what these modern players are saying is give me my max money and then I want to leave to make a try at a ring. We should make the best deal possible regardless of where he goes. He got his money now its our time to get value for that money we spent on him. If Jody wanted to dump contracts and give a clean slate to new owners it certainly has opened up that possibility. When and if he is traded it will be interesting to see how healthy he is during the season. Players at his age can certainly be injury prone. If we keep him this year his value could go dramaticly down. Change is the one constant.

If Joe and Vulcan knew this was the plan the whole time then screw trading him to his requested destination. In for a penny, in for a pound. You already pissed him off enough to ask for a trade. Get max value. Makes me sick.

Nurk is gone for sure. Ant on the other hand gives us a shooter off the bench. His salary is not as bad as it was a few days ago.

sure looks to me like the Spurs thing was a typo by Woj. I don't believe. for a second, they are in the picture

Nets? maybe, but I'm kind of skeptical they are interested

I think Spoelstra was a big factor in Dame choosing Miami...we failed Dame with a rookie coach at the prime of his career. Anyway, Dame asked for a trade...I don't buy that the FO forced his hand, they just gave his buddy Jerami the bag to re-sign so half his wish list was accomplished on day one...this couldn't have been contingent on Draymond signing here alone.

Lmao what cancer? Cronin is the guy who has given out contracts and extensions to every player on the roster.

You're not seriously still blaming Olshey with a straight face are you?

I wanna keep Ant now too. He can play 1 or 2, but I also want Scoot and Shaedon to start at 1 and 2. I know shae can play 3 but we'd be small.

but Portland would not save money by cutting him. His salary would be about the same as a vet minimum. And now we're hearing Portland wants young players and draft picks for Dame. Watford is 22

That’s the beauty of Dame’s value - teams will take on Nurk to get Dame. Miami would definitely have to.
