Then he can be a spectator. Let THAT be his legacy.

Your metaphor works for Dame, not the Blazers. He can walk away from that contract anytime.

So what? Miami has to make a choice. Brooklyn didn't let Phoenix off the hook even if it almost made the trade a wash for Phoenix.

I'd rather pay him to stay home.

Just saying friend that I don't think they can give us the value Dame is really worth without trading one of their stars themselves back to us or Cronin lets us get ripped off.

Dame and the Heat are 'win now.' The Blazers aren't.

We're not winning anything right now. Why would you take trash for your most valuable asset?

Have they though? They might have gotten some value, but did they get a superstar in return? I say hold out for two young bigs (Claxton and Clowney) and some picks. But other than OKC, who got SGA, most times the return is not equal. This is why I did not want to trade Dame in the first place.

Dame wants out because the clock is ticking. Not a problem for Cronin.

I dunno (genuinely), reputation? ticket sales? team morale? ESPN interviewers asking our players about Dame after every game? Like I get on paper that this seems really cut and dried, and they might let this drag for weeks but I don't see it going into the season.

    How about this then.

The Blazers can certainly get a return on Lillard that would make the team right now better than having Lillard and Scoot and Simons and Sharpe sharing minutes.

IF the Blazers can't get a significant player in a trade of Dame, how was Cronin supposed to get one trading Scoot??

Well I still thought Simons and other assets could have made us better next year. But one week is not enough time to get a deal that was fair to the Blazers done. But now that is moot. So I say hold out for Simmons, Claxton, Clowney and picks.

Probably did it on purpose to try and keep him out of the trade.

Riley is trying to turn the screws. I think he's banking on us wanting to close this up quickly.

Or the quicker they sign him the quicker they can trade him.
