They drafted Scoot instead of trading the pick for OG.

He's a professional who seems passionate about his work and is surrounded by other qualified professionals who are passionate about their work. Dame has put him in a shit situation with the demand to be traded to Miami, which could lead to a less than desirable outcome, but no reason to think the outcome will be anything but the best available. The future is bright so enjoy the ride.

I'd compensate Dame by trading him to his other "O" place...Utah...he went to Ogden for school...Ainge has a ton of picks and Markannen is better than Herro in my view

I don't agree. Scoot is ready to go right now. Sharpe should be very good in 1-2 seasons.
Old guys are fine amongst the ones that aren't as advanced.

Those more likely to defend him will probably say he did.

Those who don't like him will come up with a hypothetical trade that we'll never know was on the table.

We'll never know if Cronin got the best available deal.

Well the value of those 3 is about 50% of what dames value is (and probably less), and it's going to define our future. As a franchise we can't send him to where he wants if where he wants isn't giving us a fair offer with lots of assets.

bemac -- if your being forced to write this load of bullshit put two periods at the end of your last sentence and we will find a way to rescue you cause no one can be this brainwashed to believe that horse crap Cronin said earlier.

those guys were let know they were being traded ....different from Dame demanding a trade after giving his buddy a big contract with boatload of money to entice him to stay.

What do you think Dame will do if Cronin isn't offered a satisfactory return?

Fair, but it's more-so to say they shouldn't have done so with those players. But we didn't do right by Dame when he was here in terms of building around him so it should be easy for the organization to not do right by him in terms of building without him.

They need to work in a third or even fourth team in a trade with Miami. Dame gets where he wants to go and we get picks from Miami and whatever other teams picks they will give for Tyler hero and Duncan Robinson.
Then they need to include Jaime Jaquez

You forgot the option where Cronin wanted to go the young route.

Regardless, Cronin failed on the goals he set forth for himself.

What’s best for the blazers is Joe Cronin stepping down.

I don't know if Cronin wanted to go the young route. I know he kept his picks the two years he was in the draft. I don't know what he was offered for those picks and therefore if him rejecting those trades was a good move. Those who really like him will say there was no good offers. Those who hate him will say he could've made great moves and failed to do so. I'm not in either camp.

I wanted Dame to stay in Portland, Cronin has some responsibility in Dame asking out; no doubt in my mind.

I'm far from optimistic that would address the main problem.

Meaning they should or shouldn't cater to dame? Cause they most definitely should not cater to Dame. Love him still, but no.

Hopefully Joe means what he says here.

My history shows i'm a Dame fan but always a Blazer fan first. At this rate, looks like a stare down. Who's gonna blink first? Will dame go all in and burn bridges? Will Joe cave and give him away for peanuts? Does Dame GAF what happens to the organization?

At this point, i'm all in with Brass. If a trade doesn't look good, wait until the break or trade deadline. Agree with the Fuck Miami crowd. Fuck 'em. Do not trade Dame to Miami.

We are at a turning point with our beloved franchise. Hopefully the adults in the room don't shit the bed.
