As ugly as you need. We have all the leverage here. We need to do what’s best for the franchise. We can acquiesce to Dame’s trade request, but can’t be forced to only deal with one team. He should be okay with a handful of teams and we do our best to land him at one of those destinations.

Miami let their entire backcourt leave in free agency so the longer you drag it out, the more desperate they’ll be to get the deal done.

Ok. Would you have traded Shaedon OR Scoot for Siakam?

Agents have a way in engineering situations and relationships with owners.

We had the chance to trade Shaedon OR Scoot for Siakam. That would have made Dame happy. Yes I get the contract concerns, but that’s also part of the risk we were never willing to take.

If He was willing to resign here and Dame was onboard I may have traded Scoot or Shaedon.

It sounds like someone needs to read their contract.

Boy, it sure sounds like Dame wants to play on a Super Team.

    Words are cheap with him.

Perhaps it's been brought up before, but perhaps given the import of the negotiations that will need to occur, are there any retired execs we could bring in on a temporary basis to help Cronin on this deal? Someone like Geoff Petrie, for example? Not to evaluate talent, but rather to assist with the negotiation portion? Anyway, just spitballing.

I cannot imagine Brooklyn would want to help Miami.

LOL Fuck Dame if that's his stance. Heat or bust? Heat or sit? Let him fn sit.

Or, i could be way off base on my interpretation.

Maybe just maybe you can't say words are cheap with a guy that stuck around as long as Dame did with such shitty roster construction for so long. Maybe he reached his breaking point with patience and when he couldn't have it his way (a championship here) he decided that he would try and force his way to the place that was the closest he could get to guaranteed rings. Everyone who is turning on Dame right now looks like a traitor to me. We all know that Joe didn't ever make the big swing he kept promising, we all know that when Dame said don't go young Joe not only used the third pick to draft someone young but to draft a young PG.

Oh and I think Dame knows what his contract says but this is business and there are a lot of ways to meet your contractual obligations and still work where you want to work and for who you want to work.

This trade is EVERYTHING for us. We go to the mattresses, no matter how many bridges we burn.

Sure I can. Words are cheap. Maybe Dame has helped construct this roster, filled with his buddies and cousin. Maybe he didn't do what he needed to mollify Aldridge. Maybe we bent over backward to accommodate him. Maybe we kept CJ for too long because he was friends with Dame when everyone could see it wasn't working. Maybe we signed Grant to appease him. Maybe our roster isn't all on the front office. Maybe.

He's all talk in my book.

IF this is really Dame's stance - then Joe just needs to wait it out.

There's no urgency to get this done today or even this week. Take the time to make sure there's a good offer

cronin has no spine. He will deliver lillard to Miami on a silver platter and take only scraps in return. If he wanted to appease normal Powell by trading him to his preferred location he will do the same for lillard. Trade him to whoever gives up the biggest return. Fuck trying to appease him he already asked out.

Can we keep him and send him down to the Rip City Remix? I think that would make everyone happy.

No agent is going to steer his client here. In fact, I'm certain Dame's agent will threaten to never allow another one of his clients to sign. We need to leak this stuff publicly, air the dirty laundry. Call their bluff. We have to maximize value.
