Right, and for only $9 million total for two years. 25 year old power forward who plays good defense and is a decent rebounder. Wouldn't he have been a good fit here?
BTW, have I missed it? We haven't signed anyone yet, right? What's that all about?

Correct. I kinda wonder if we are saving our MLE until we know who is on our team. That’s why I started to get suspicious that we weren’t linked to any free agents on Friday. We can also use the MLE as a trade exception.

Looks like Toronto wants in on the Dame sweepstakes...they could offer a way better deal than Miami that would include OG and several picks and players.

keep in mind, I was just getting over the suggestion by MM that Tyrese Maxey might become a Blazer. He's actually under 6'3

Dame, Lauri, and Kessler are not contenders. Plus those two Jazz players are the only thing they have other than picks that we would want back in return. I don't consider them a trade partner either.

I would want Barnes over OG. But what other salaries + picks? Boucher, Tad, Porter…not many big salaries after Siakam, Trent, and OG.

Last year I wanted Barnes and FVV with a pick and people hated it. With the idea we would move FVV for picks elsewhere.

Barnes would be amazing. Doubt the Raps would move him though.

We got a new Center: Edy Tavares. He’s tall, old and cheap. Jody’s kind of player

man what a pick up. thanks joe.

that signing doesn't even warrant it's own thread. plus he wasn't cheap

"Stipulations in Tavares’ contract with Real Madrid make an immediate move to the NBA costly for the franchise that signs him, Urbonas reported.

The biggest obstacle to the deal is the massive buyout clause imposed by Real Madrid, which was included in a five-year contract signed in 2019.

Per BasketNews sources, the NBA buyout for Tavares is even higher than the €6M that Facundo Campazzo had to pay in 2020 to secure his move to the Denver Nuggets.

The more than 6 million euros required for a buyout is equal to over $6.5 million in U.S. currency. If Portland wants to avoid that extra price tag, Tavares’ contract is set to expire in one year, so the Blazers could sign him with no buyout needed in the summer of 2024."
