To be clear I think we pushed him to this. I think there’s a good chance we did it deliberately. But he kinda backed himself into a corner with his comments about the pick.

I agree with this. But still, brah. Ask for a trade quietly.

I do think Dame is more diva than has been let on. But that’s just hearing random shit from people near him so I don’t know. But it lines up with his actions over the years.

I have no problem with that. I also have no problems with people that loved him turning on him once he changed. Life is change.

He has the right to change his mind. So can the fans. It's only fair. Let's remember that the "sacrifice" people talk about with basketball players is often quite a bit less than the sacrifice many fans do to support that team that pays the players salary. People are allowed to be disappointed that he changed his mind.

If the Nets can find a center to replace Claxton I don't know why they would turn down a Claxton, Clowney, Simmons trade. (and 2-3 first-round picks) They would have a very good 7-8 man rotation. So maybe leave them with some draft picks so they can trade for one

They would still have the following

    Dame-Dinwiddie
    Bridges-Dinwiddie
    Cam Johnson
    Finney -Smith, R. Oneal
    ? D-Sharpe

    Rookie: Whitehead

Someone pointed out that they have a TPE that fits Nurk's contract... Throw Whitehead in with that and call it a day.

On my timeline, it's the fans the wanted him traded a month ago that are slinging mud.

Regardless, people throwing shade look silly to me.

    love dame, but

I literally don’t give a shit if he threatens to retire if he doesn’t end up on the heat. Ship him for the best deal, period.

I just saw that. (18 million from Durant) I would give them Nurk for free if they are giving us two young players plus 3 1sts.

A lot in here feel this way, but I think we can/should get something for Nurk. He's not gonna get us Wemby, but his contract isn't as bad as most make it out to be and when healthy is a top-half, big bodied C...

    He's not a toxic asset.

We are not getting a star. We never were. That is why I did not want to trade Dame. But at this point, two young bigs in Claxton and Clowney and 3 1sts, plus Simmons to keep or trade....is better than I thought we would get.

It is not toxic but it is not easily tradable. Would you give up a first for him?

I know Simmons contract is ridiculous, and he’s scared to shoot the ball, but did his defense get bad too???

For one, I didn't say we'd get a 1st for him, I just said we shouldn't dump him. Every team's situation is different, so we're not trading him in a vacuum here. Some teams need Cs -- if BKN caves in trading Claxton, THEY will need one.

I'd be fine with a young prospect, a 2 and a TPE for Nurk. Or like I said, Whitehead and a TPE. We won't be getting the moon for him, but we should be maximizing his value.

No, his D did not get worse. His health is the main question. They were playing well before he got hurt. He still has value with his 2-year contract. He is at least as healthy as Nurk which is why I think the trade is good for us.

there’s no d in Ben Simmons name, but Dame’s name begins and ends in d’s, but his game has none.

Well, it's not wrong. If Dame ends up in Miami, it would likely be the biggest 'Big 3' in the league. So much for 'the grind'....

I'd want Barnes and a pick package from Toronto. A dame, og, pascal, poetl lineup is pretty damn good
