So then move him later. Claxton and Clwoney seem to fit perfectly for what we need. Who else can we get besides picks? No star is going to want to go to a young team.
The only thing to be mad at dame for is the dictation of location, other than that I support Dame in what he did. He did give us warning, like you said.
I have long thought the Raptors were the best fit because of their young talent. Make it a 2026 pick and a 2028 unprotected.
I agree Dame needs to turn the shit off, immediately. It hurts my heart, and gets my blood boiling to read so much vile garbage on S2, now. And to see these posters not understand why Dame is pissed off at Fork Tongued Joe is mindboggling. Joe's lie of "building around Dame "has taken it's toll.
I wish people would respect Dames decision. If you want to blast someone blast Jody & Bert for not selling the team. At my old age of 73, I was hopeful we could do as Joe said he would do and swing for the fence to give Dame a chance, thats all he requested. Joe imo, struggles taking risk and the reason he's survived as long as he has as a Vulcan, is he's been a yes man, that rubs well & smiles. He's a numbers cruncher and scout at heart.
We don't even know exactly what him saying he wants to go to Miami and nowhere else entails. Did he or his agent threaten to sit? Did they threaten not to report to the new team? We're going off some very limited information and people are condemning him for it. I don't blame Dame for telling the team where he wants them to put him but if that's not the best place for the team to move him to then they have to do what they think is best... then we can all see what Dame does. If Dame shows that he is willing to do some Harden like shit then sure condemn the dude and let it tarnish his reputation but if he goes to that new place and does his best, everyone complaining about him should stop and until they know which way that would go they should stop complaining about Dame. I mean do whatever the fuck you want everybody but just know you're complaining about a dude that has shown nothing but class and you're doing it based on hypotheticals.
I love Dame, but he’s amongst the history list of most one-sided players. As good as he is on offense, his D is equally atrocious. But here we are, focusing on offense cuz that’s what sells to the fans. But it doesn’t translate to W’s, and that’s why Portland has been weak for several years now.
Yeah what happens if he doesn’t make the team he goes to better? How much grace will he get from his new team’s fans?
You don't realize how many people is waiting for it. I don't know much about Bam, but Jimmy and Dame on a Mission would fuckin glue me to the screen during playoffs. They both are just different than other "stars". I say let Dame do it and support him, just for love for the game At the same time we got Scoot and Sharpe to be exited about. As Nate said, it was pure logic and I am actually happy about it. If he goes where he want and we got what we want, I don't see the reason not to stay very good friends.
That's why I can't figure out why Miami wants him so bad. (Or, maybe the amount they want him is reflected in how poor their tradable assets are?) He doesn't fit their defensive intensity at all, and he would take the ball out of Bam's hands, requiring a complete overhaul of the offense. Is he going to suddenly be comfortable playing off the ball? He's good at creating his own shot, which is something Miami desperately needs, but at the sake of ball movement which is sort of their specialty.
It certainly sets a tone for the rest of your team when your best player is that poor on defense. Yes, Curry got away with it, but that is more of a historical asterisk.
Also, let's explore the potential impact of Damian Lillard being traded to Miami on his irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). While the allure of the city and its famous pork Cubanos may seem enticing, Lillard's dietary restrictions and IBS could pose challenges. Pork, a common ingredient in Cubanos, is known to trigger symptoms in individuals with IBS. If Lillard were to indulge in these flavorful sandwiches without considering his condition, he might experience discomfort, flare-ups, and digestive issues. Straining during bowel movements due to the effects of IBS could potentially lead to complications, necessitating another adductor surgery and possibly shortening his basketball career.
I think Utah has one of the better packages: Kessler/Sexton/Ogbaji/Kendricks/1 or 2 Minny picks for Dame and get Nurk in there if you can and salaries match. Scoot/Ant/Sharpe/Grant/Kessler Send Dame to a team with an all star, beloved in Utah and they still have plenty of draft capital to get another player.
