I picked it but it disappeared. There's a pick swap with Houston for 2024.

I'd do that yesterday. I don't think there is a chance in hell that Brooklyn gives up that much

What I'm not sure about is whether Brooklyn views Simmons as a negative value. Are they willing to pay to move him?

Not redundant at all. One is a center and one is a PF IMO.

Well they shouldn't pay to keep him so

Seriously? Simmons is a negative and those Phoenix 1st rounders are practically 2nd rounders.

Ah. I thought they were about the same size, but Clowney didn't get measured at the combine, it seems, and maybe he's going to have a more expanded game as he matures.

Seriously, Nate, you should watch this. Pretty interesting stuff (Ben Simmons is by far the worst contract in the NBA):

I would be pretty happy if this was the result.

The deal being talked about with Brooklyn, Miami and us is

    Dame and Nurk to Miami
Herro and Lowry to Brooklyn, Picks
Simmons, Claxton, Finney-Smith, Jovic, picks to Portland

    Heat get Dame
Nets get Herro and rid of Simmons
Portland gets young bigs and picks

Which, to me, is worth it. If we can peel a couple picks off them to take his contract and then see if he can bounce back. If not, he's out in 2 years.

Simmons might be an awful contract but, the way I view it, we tank next year, so who cares if he plays or not. Maybe he figures stuff out with no pressure up here? If so, great! If not, he's a huge expiring going in to sharpes 3rd season. If sharpe is who some of us think, then year 3 could show a huge leap, where we try to "contend" earlier than thought, and we have a huge expiring, some young pieces hopefully, and draft capital to throw at the next star

I'd be fine with that. I don't see it happening, though.

I still think Miami doesn't give up NEARLY enough in that scenario.

I demand this from Miami. It doesn't work on the machine because of Jaquez. I still don't know why Brooklyn would do this.

Id generally be fine with this. What picks are we talking about here?

    ***edit***
Not that I care, but I dont see what's in it for Brooklyn. They are left without a decent C

Depends on the amount of picks. Simmons is an anchor that offsets the young talent of Clax.

Talked about by Miami fans only, I can only assume.

With Miami's "fuck you" move of signing Jacquez so he can't be traded, I would absolutely refuse any trade that doesn't include him.

    Nurkic fits their TPE
Lillard = Simmons (or Dinwiddie + filler) + Claxton
Grant S&T = CamJohnson S&T ... if both are up for it, otherwise not
    Add picks
    Call NBA headquarters

    NETS: Lillard + Nurkic (+Grant)
    BLAZERS: Simmons 2 years + Claxton (+CamJohnson) + picks + $16.875 TPE

seems like it would make a lot more sense to ship Nurkic to Nets if they are losing Claxton

and I sure as hell don't want Portland eating the contract of DFS. He's not a good basketball player. I would hope he's deleted from that trade

Simmons has major physical and psychological issues., but Portland is a team that can afford to gamble on him, and the positive value would be the picks/Claxton. Worst case scenario is that his contract is like the expiring throw away contact that are often included in deals like this. Only there's a chance it turns into a home run.
