OH YOU TAKE THE HIGH ROAD AND ILL TAKE THE LOW ROAD AND ILL BE IN SCOTLAND AFORE YEEEEEE Whoops, wrong thread…
Maybe Dame's tweet is code ... maybe when he talks about the "high road," it means he wants traded to Denver ....
Both given that we were letting the ink dry on Grant's contract when it happened. If you're going to move on...do it with one year left on your deal or when you're a free agent or don't take the big money and bail. His social media BS before the draft cost us a chance to move Ant and get an impact player in my view. Joe had zero leverage..Dame took it all.
It was a whole space-time continuum thing. LeBron was going to demand the Cavs trade the No. 1 pick to the Lakers when he was in high school, but Walter Cronkite traveled through time to convince him it would be a mistake. The rest is history. Bill and Ted were there, too. So was Death.
Of course some fans are going to be upset that he's asking for a trade. I've been actually hoping this would happen though. To me it's more of an insult if we were a good team and he just wanted out to flee to a big market or whatever, but we're obviously staring down the barrel of a rebuild.
Don't forget Abraham Lincoln with his very special message to the class of San Dimas High School of, "Be excellent to each other. And... PARTY ON DUDES." I think we all could take heed of that speech in times like these.
This organization misled him. He wanted to win here, this organization said they'd be "super aggressive" in building a winner around him, yet didn't do anything to win with him here and drafted his replacement instead. This organization was the one that turncoated.
Enough is enough. If I was him, I would go 3y ago. Being aggressive and big moves is what I hear for 7years now. Every f time we wait for big splash all summer and "it wasn't there", so we wait for February and it is not there, we have to wait for opportunities in off-season. Year after year it': "Listen... Look..." All we got is Hezonia and D.Jones Jr. Toliver is our big splash every time. Of course I don't forget about Covington and Powell. For their reasons they refused to play basketball for this organization. And after all this years, they draft Scoot and what they say? "It wasn't there." He would be stupid not to demand a trade. I have my issues with him as well, but he gave FO a chance to make this splash again and again and this year they fucked him for goodbye.
It’s not exactly the same, but Lillard’s request to join Miami sure reminds me of Durant going to the Warriors after they won a title. You can’t attack the ring chasers and then become a ring chaser yourself.
That's the thing that rubs a bit wrong. He talked about the grind, talked about rather being here than going to a be part of a super team. Not sure there would be a bigger 'Big 3' than Bam/Butler/Dame. They would be a favorite to win the title going into the season. That is not much of a grind. I don't blame him for wanting a chance to win, but this goes against a lot of what he has said/tweeted.
