PG - Scoot/Ant SG - Shae/Ant SF - Martin/Jacques/Rupert PF - Grant/Murray/Jovic C - ??/Badji I actually like a lot of this rim running athletic defensive minded core. Less interested in Jacques with Rupert on the roster but I like surrounding Scoot and Shae with athletic two way players. What we should have put around Dame.
what the fuck are you talking about? OKC owns Miami's 2025 and 2026 picks. They OWN them. Miami doesn't. Miami might be able to work a deal with OKC on 2025, but OKC simply may refuse saying that Miami should trade their 2026 pick to Portland makes as much sense as saying Miami should trade Josh Giddey to Portland
I love Dame but some fans need to have a heart to heart with themselves. Are you a Dame fan or a Blazers fan? If you are a Dame fan more than a Blazers fan then bye, felicia.
They own one or the other right? It's lotto protected in 2025, unprotected in 2026. What they would need to do is amend it to a 2024 unprotected. That gives them the ability to trade 2026, 2028 and 2030. Or they can amend it to 2026 unprotected and trade 2024, 2028, 2030. Not sure why OKC would do either though without getting another kickback somewhere.
OKC owns Miami's 1st in 2025 lotto protected. It is unlikely to be a lotto pick in 2025. 2026 is known to be a stronger draft. The pick is unprotected in 2026 if it doesn't convey in 2025. It is not crazy to think they would be willing to take the pick unprotected in 26 where it is supposed to be a stronger draft. And take a 2nd from Miami to do so. That same shit was said by Blazer fans for a couple years with Chicagos rights to our pick. You even said it.
if Dame is going to Miami, the later that unprotected pick is the better for OKC. In 2026, Dame will be 36, Butler 37. That's OKC's best shot at a big payoff. They won't give that up. What they might do is give back 2025 if Miami sends them a 2nd or two. That would free up 2024, but that pick won't have much value at all. It could be 27 or 28. But I guess it would sqeeze a little more out of Miami
For those wanting Caleb, I dont think he'll be very good on a rebuilding team. He's 27 years old as well, so timelines dont really align either. I suggested going after him qhen he still was with Charlotte, that wouldve made sense. We should aim for Jovic and Highsmith, if we want players from the Heat.
I think Billups likes Mays...he does a great job of running the offense. Really think he'll get minutes at backup PG.
They gave 2 2nds for them to take Oladipo. I don’t even know if they have anymore seconds. But it does feel like they made a lot of these moves to be like “hey, we can’t offer any more *shrug*.
Right. But 26 is supposed to be a stronger draft. They might not want it in 25 because its likely miami wont be a lotto team in 25 in what is considered a weaker draft. If Miami flips them a second rounder OKC could lift the protection and just make it a 26 unprotected pick.
yes, that's what it means. And that's exactly what I've been saying, repeatedly. OKC gets the pick no matter what (assuming 2025 doesn't convey); Miami sure as shit doesn't. And the Stepian rule prevents them from trading their 2027 pick although they could trade a swap....except Portland doesn't own their 2027 first
