I just don't think the Nets look at it this way. If I were the Nets I would be thinking we are already taking on Herro's bad contract why do we have to sweeten it by paying to get rid of Simmons's bad contract? One could argue Simmons is better than Herro.

I really hope the first time we play Dame its in Portland. Regardless of how this all plays out, Dame deserves love from the fans and a chance to say goodbye. And Scoot deserves to absolutely take him to the woodshed. I'm sure Dame will want to drop 50 on us as well, but damn that's going to be a fun matchup to watch.

 

The difference is GA did not say he wants out. I imagine that if GA tells the Bucks he wants out - and they decide to go through a youth movement, that's exactly what they would do as well.

 

Then you don't take Simmons? The entire point of this discussion is:
1. Who can Miami find that will provide value for Herro. If you don't think that's BKN, that's fine, but that's not really what we're talking about.
2. That being the case, the discussion is then, "will BKN be willing to pay to get rid of Simmons". Again, if you don't think they will, you're entitled to that opinion, but that's not really the conversation.

The Heat got a 2nd round pick back as part of the Max Strus deal. They can offer to flip that to OKC and make the 1st unprotected in 2026 as their offer.
