Exactly. My reasoning for him to rethink this whole thing. reconcile. The heat now will cool off in time. Going somewhere else is no guaranty. And if you do go, and it blows up in his face , I doubt he will be happy with that decision going forward. LaMarcus said as much. Drexler was lucky. He was able to go to an NBA Champion with the great Hakeem. Plus, the Blazers accepted a Yugo (beat up & old Otis Thorpe) to make it happen. Talk about bad compensation. Dame wouldn't be joining a Hakeem level athlete. Jimmy Buckets is good, he ain't that good. It's easy for Clyde to say "Dame should ask out" last year. Because it worked out perfectly for him. But i don't see Miami as the be all, end all.
If he does reconcile, some will not forgive him. But that's just being petty. Joe struck first blood by not even adding some decent veteran talent for depth purposes. Depth he wouldn't have had to mortgage the farm for. Yes the expectations for the Draftees is high. But he hasn't added one veteran that could help. So Dame has a right to be frustrated. But it's not too late, as some have suggested, to rethink it all. Some have moved on, and that's their prerogative. But people make mistakes . Not like Dame has beat up a teenager, accosted a mall security guard, and pointed lasers at opposing player busses. Then again, that's the guy the NBA wants to be a face of the League.
The divorce is basically finalized. We are in the courtroom with the judge ready to sign off. It is too late. We got a couple hot little numbers on the side waiting for us in Scoot and Sharpe.
We control their rights. They will be RFA after their rookie deals. It is all going to be ok. Scoot and Sharpe will be fun to watch. You'll change your avatar in no time.
Been busy! Took a break from old man grouches. A new blazers era had me pumped up enough to come back!
From what film I can watch of Scoot, and seeing what Sharpe can do, I personally wouldn't to practice against these youngsters if I were Dame. Scoot is a beast on defense and his long arms will give opposing PGs fits during games. I'm not saying Dame is afraid of Scoot making him look bad, but at his age I don't see him with his same first step like he used to. Scoot on the other hand might make Dame look bad in practice. I'm just spit balling but Dame isn't getting younger and Scoot has all the makings of a special PG, one we haven't seem come around in years. We'll see what happens.
i asked this a few days back.... are we past the point of no return? KD only got traded because a new owner in PHX finally met BK's demands. and that happened 7 months after the initial request out. joe needs to hold strong.
I think coaching is possibly the biggest draw with Dame...he's shown a lot of love for Pop since team USA tryouts and Spoelstra has a championship pedigree...so does Riley. Chauncey is more of a rookie coach than Scoot is an NBA pt guard....nobody talks about it but it could be influenced by coaching...Stotts lets him shoot from half court...not sure other coaches are on board with those shots ...he'll find out
