TBD. Depends on the return the Blazers get on the trade and the front Lillard's team puts out there before the game. If it gets acrimonious, I expect a mix. As it stands now, there'll probably be a smattering of boos, but the cheers will considerably outnumber them.
The only way I personally would boo him is if it's known that he forced us to take a crappy offer to go to his only spot. (Indirectly or directly). But this year is about selling the team. That needs to be the focus. This organization at the top is a fucking joke.
Man, I really want to root for Dame but the way he's strong-arming the team right now is really leaving a bad taste in my mouth. To sign that deal last Summer and then at the first opportunity demand to go to only one team and undercut the Blazers leverage is a tough one. I always said I'd root for him to win elsewhere but I'm not so sure if I feel that way right now. We'll see how this plays out.
I could never boo Dame no matter how ugly it get's. I will never forget what he did for the franchise and how many incredible moments we had. Yeah it could have been more successful in the Playoffs but it is what it is
I am going to make this clear and will be rude but again do not care : When Dame returns and if you attend the game and boo him then your not a real Blazers fan and your a POS --- PERIOD
I would give Dame a standing ovation even though I'm pissed at the way he's left the team. He gave me a lot to cheer for for over a decade. I won't miss half court shots as much as he will with a different coach.
Like I said, it'd take a very specific set of circumstances for me to boo him. I was listening to the open of Dirt and Sprague today and they played the two shots and his rookie game against the L*kers. Man that made me feel some sort of way. It's just a really strange time. I want to celebrate all he's done here. That said, I don't blame people booing him because of this. The optics are bad on a lot of this. I get it.
I think there are always idiots who will boo him, but he deserves a nice ovation. After he's traded, the Blazers will try to cool the temperature. Lillard will have prepared a nice statement by his agent for the fans. In other words, much will be forgiven.
I hope no one boos him. I am not rooting for a standing ovation, but being hostile towards him would be gauche.
That’s an interesting point. He stuck around long enough to get his super max and now he’s leaving right as soon as he possibly could.
