<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>March 28, 2006 -- Peyton and Eli square off in season-openerThis was going to be too good to wait and too intriguing to keep isolated in New York and Indianapolis. And so it makes complete sense that Eli and Peyton Manning, the most famous quarterback brother act in the NFL, will open the 2006 season by squaring off on Sept. 10 in a nationally-televised Sunday night family feud at Giants Stadium. The 8:15 p.m. kickoff for the Giants vs. the Colts will be the first Sunday night game televised by NBC, the NFL's new broadcast partner. "It's going to be something different, something I've never done before, " Eli Manning said yesterday. "We've never competed against each other in anything, really, besides one-on-one basketball in our backyard." Figure famous father Archie Manning will be in attendance and dividing his loyalties. Both sons suffered rude departures from last season's playoffs Eli playing poorly and getting shut out by the Panthers and Peyton again falling short of the Super Bowl against the Steelers. The NFL season kicks off on Sept. 7 when the Super Bowl champion Steelers face Daunte Culpepper and the Dolphins in Pittsburgh in a nationally-televised Thursday night opener. Eli Manning knew the Giants were scheduled to play the Colts next season and anticipated the game would attract a great deal of attention. The brothers have discussed the upcoming confrontation but never in much detail. "It's probably better that it's early rather than later," Eli said. "I can't do a whole lot of trash talking. It's not like I'm a defensive end who is going to sack him or be on the field at the same time. The only time we'll be on the field together is before the game when we're warming up." Starting off on the road is nothing new for Peyton and the Colts, as this will be the seventh consecutive year they will open up away from home. They are 5-1 in those road openers. "I can take him in basketball," Eli said. "That's not a competition. Football is another story. I'm still trying to get to his level of play."</div>Full Article

This is going to be interesting to watch, but who is Archie going to root for? Baby Eli or Peyton who he seems to be very jealous of.

Kind of like Brady Quinn's sister? She wore a half Ohio State half Notre Dame jersey because she is dating A.J. Hawk.

I think Peyton is too developed and good for Eli to beat him in a shoot-out even though the Giants have the better recievers.
