They won't back out of those deals, tying those deals to ours can make the deal more attractive to us because we can take the young assets we want without having to take on extra salary like Duncan Robinson. The Nets have a deal or more like that too, that would make them giving us low to no salary pieces and them taking on money a lot easier. Edit: The deals being referred to were lopsided deals where the Heat and Nets were sending out more salary than they were taking back.
It should be game one of this upcoming season... not that they'll be dominant at first but I think Scoot and Shae should start and Ant should get used to coming off the bench from the jump.
I've said a couple of times to not take Barry Jackson seriously, because he's more fan than reporter. He posted this earlier today. Of course, it's a silly narrative that will get his audience's hopes up, but it's stupid. Why would the Blazers care about making a mess with a guy who isn't going to be playing for them, let alone facilitate his move to a competitor while destroying themselves? But Heat fans will buy into the anti-logic.
It's not backing out. Just expanding them to include other teams/assets. Happens all the time. What they have already agreed to will still happen.
At this point I'm starting to want Lillard to go ANYWHERE but Miami. The National Media's entitled attitude of Portland needing to get absolutely robbed to help the Heat/Lillard is out of hand. The Heat keep low balling us not even offering Jaquez and Jovic. They can suck it.
Blazer broadcasting slobbered over Cam Reddish. Making fans believe everything the media tells them is really fun to do. Jovic is tall and versatile, the next Lauri Markkanen. Jaquez has All-Star potential. Look at all these draft picks! Boom, it's done, let's make a deal.
Part of the hang up is what Miami can get for Herro. Teams know the spot the Heat are in, so it's not like they are offering much for him knowing that Miami doesn't have leverage with Herro. So that hurts the value of what Portland gets back from Miami for Dame. There are a lot of moving parts which is why the agents are involved. They are trying to facilitate using what leverage they have with current or potential future clients to help out now for a favor later. (whatever that would be worth)
Well this can’t be! Are you saying that teams don’t offer fair value when they know that a team is desperate?????
he may work hard, but he's one of the most targeted players in the entire league. Last year Spo had to reduce his minutes by 1/3 in the playoffs because of it. Now he's young, athletic-ish, and works hard, so he may improve. But if there's one guard in the league that rivals how I feel when Ant is on the floor, it's Herro.
he also said "Let us worry about the cap [ed. by extension, "assets"], you worry about the product on the floor." Lost me there.
Maybe the agents should start telling GM's of teams willing to be a third trade partner with Miami that if they don't raise their offers for Herro, then they will steer their clients away from those teams in the future. They can even get Haynes and other media in on it too. The players should also look into this as well and take notice. If GM's are not willing to take it in the can for Herro, which helps Dame, then they should never play in those offending cities ever again. Yeah, that's the ticket!
Yep. He's never returning. I feel sorry for whoever owns Lillard Toyota. They're going to take a bath.
