    I was under the impression it was going to be four years, $52MM when I first commented that he should enjoy Dallas. Three years, $33MM is enough of a difference that it changes my position. I say match it.

    I mean... we are in asset acquisition mode right now, so I'd listen, but outside of Lively (who I'd be shocked if they traded) they just don't really have the players or the assets to make anything worthwhile.

    I'd totally do it for their 2 younguns. I wish we would've taken OMP at 23 instead of them at 24. Hell, if Thybulle's agent just sits back for a second and tells DAL to make it a trade (don't sign it! It's offered, you know it's offered, you don't have to sign it and ruin any chance at an S&T!!) he can open up enough space to get his client the full MLE.

    Yeah, I'd do it for OMax and filler I suppose too. I really liked him coming out and having him for the next four years on a rookie contract is a touch more appealing to me on our timeline than Thybulle making 11mil per year.

    That said, I can't imagine either of their drafted players would be on the table here.

    The Mavericks are asking the Thybulle question themselves as we speak. The behind-the-scenes rumbles have been that Portland would match. But there has plenty of skepticism, too. They genuinely don't know at this juncture.

    Joe can't say that he is trying to build a winner despite Dame's situation AND let Thybulle leave for nothing. Especially for a salary starting at around 10M a year for 3 years.
