Just tell him he gets % of the team when he retires. Stay here, we will give you 10%, you can buy up to 25%, you are a Blazer for life. Yeah yeah I don’t want to hear about all the rules and bullshit. Just tell him and wrap this up.
Totally agree. Would love to see him as a part of the new ownership group, as big a role as possible.
Funny to reflect and consider the convos leading up to the draft through everything to today to right now in this thread. Even though NO has left us needing and wanting more…. The adventures of Dame, where he was and where he is and where he is going… couldn’t have envisioned so much to our community and fandom going back to the draft lead up until now.
Keep Lillard here and happy for life! Yes, that's an order. He's got 100% character and unbelievable basketball skills. What more do you want?
Big yikes. He's probably only coming back to town for Adidas and when he's forced to by the NBA (playing a game, in other words)
Anyone remember if Drexler was booed in his first game back in Portland? I have a feeling that it's going to be pretty deafening when Dame comes back.
Do we really need this resurrected? I want more summer league posts - not Lillard shit from 2 years ago.
I’m just happy he’d still want to live here. It bodes well for our chances of bringing him back when this deal is done. Dame, at the end of the day, is a professional. You want your young guys to soak in as much as they can from him. The goal in my mind is to gather as many 2026-2030 picks as we can so we can continue to bring in young (possibly lotto) talent when/if Shae and Scoot get a max extension. Whether or not Dame wins one in Miami doesn’t matter to me. I’d love for him to win his first one with us, but I’m happy if he rides the coattails for the constant young talent that will be coming in to winning a couple. Dreams.
Dame keeps saying that "I haven't said shit" when he has given countless interview that raise questions about what he wants to to for multiple years. He is smart. He knows what the fallout from that will be. And he is allowing his agent and mouthpiece Haynes to say things for him so 'technically', he can say he never said that stuff. But neither Haynes nor Goodwin is doing ANY of this without Dame's approval. So that comes across as a bit disingenuous. If he wants to leave, own it. But his agent isn't calling teams saying, "don't trade for Dame" without his explicit permission.
Well then he's insulting our intelligence saying he didn't say it, because the fact he doesn't come out and refute it implies agreement/consent of the messaging. So fuck him for that.
It does come across like he thinks fans can't figure out where the stuff Haynes and Goodwin are saying, is coming from.
