A conspiracy theory i'm.starting to ponder is that the Blazers brought back Roy for the Draft Lottery trying to build some goodwill (and he may be around much more after Dame leaves) because they already knew they were gonna move off Dame.
Was watching a Blazers Uprise episode, and if I recall correctly, Eric aka hoopsjock hinted that the Blazers are ready to give Roy a position within the organization as soon as his son graduates high school (maybe Roy replaces Billups?). Sounds like Roy wanted to raise his kids and be around them, before taking a job that's in another city.
Which son? He has 3 kids, and the earliest any of them would be graduating from HS is 2025, and the youngest is going into 1st grade this fall. This sounds slightly made up.
Yeah. Also, it's possible to move the entire family to a new city when you take a job there. I mean, I've heard of people who've done that, crazy as it sounds. barfo
Maybe it’s because the FO said they were committed to winning and then turned down a trade including Sharpe for Zion. Then used that pick to draft another PG on a team already deep in the backcourt. Not saying the pick was the wrong move. I think Scoot was the pick. But I could see why Dame would be questioning it.
How many of them banked 100 million in their 20s? I can understand wanting to stay put with the kids. Hell I know people who don't want to move their families for a better job, I've heard people who've done that as crazy as it sounds.
