I sat next to this guy. Said he played with Larry Steele (college) and Mitch Kupchak (nba).

You are one of the most negative fans I ever have seen, on or off line. Give it a rest dude.

See the funny thing is, I don’t come on here claiming to be a basketball genius and that I’m always right. I love the game and talk about it.

The coach was blamed for this loss. I’m simply placing the blame where I believe it belongs. How is that negative?

I disagree completely. HCP is probably in the most-know on this forum, and he keeps it real. He's also one of the few posters here that doesn't hide behind a avatar pic and name. I realize you're new here, but know what you're saying before you say it.

I liked Amen a lot as well but I think calling Scoot a "small point guard that can score" is disingenuous. He IS a small guard that can score, but it's more than he's the guy that can serve as the engine of an offense. As in, he can be your number one option, run everything through him, kind of player. Think Amen can maybe get there too but I have a harder time seeing it with him than with Scoot.

Both players need their shot to come around in order to not become a liability off-ball. This is more important in the playoffs, but I think Amen's shot is currently a lot further away than Scoot's. If they can't shoot, then you have the put the ball in their hands, and currently I think Scoot is more dynamic with the ball.

Wouldn't be mad with Amen though. Amen/Ant/Sharpe makes a lot more sense than Scoot/Ant/Sharpe.

I don't hide behind anything either friend. More than happy to put pics of myself on here, but all I have ever seen of him is posting negativity and like he is some kind of insider. Maybe I don't know him as well as everyone else does, but that's just my take. Maybe it will change which will be fine.

Regardless, I'm just gonna focus on the Blazers from now on, not go back and forth with some dude their is a 99.9 percent chance I will never even meet in real life.

Ok fair enough, I just don't agree with his takes, ever. But hey to each their own, that's what a forum is about. Now depending on what beer @THE HCP prefers will say if we can be pals or not.

I peg him as a pale ale fan.

I understand why people are upset at HCP. It's a hard time to be a Blazer fan right now with all this Dame drama. Everyone was looking for some light in the shitstorm. Then our future guard gets injured and we lose to a bullshit shot by Smith Jr. Then HCP comes in and reps Smith, throwing the loss in everyones face. Have some common decency and sense. Read the room. So, I get the reactions.

    My player observations:

Badji - not looking like the answer to the backup 5
Reath - looked a lot better than Badji, want more data.
Murray - apparently his job is to stand in the corner and shoot 3s. He was given more than his share of open 3s, and finished 2-6 on 3s :( His overall game was not highlighted.
Walker - not physically dominant, but crazy good stats: 6-8 FG. 2-2 3FG, 10 rebound/15 pt double-double + 3 ast and 1 stl on 2 TOs, +/- +4 should be ahead of Murray on depth chart.
Scoot - magnificent. Makes everyone's job easier, guarded Houston's best player (Amen). Team looked considerably worse with him off the floor.
Sharpe - Mostly shot contested 3s until middle of 4th quarter when he finally got serious. Disturbing if it becomes a trend. Finish 7/21 :( Hope he takes next game more seriously.
Rupert - Not effective. Houston did a lot of barreling Blazers over and refs falling for it (35 FT), and Rupert was one of the victims of this.
Butler - Officially listed as a center (because he's 7 ft tall), but he's a 3/4/2 as he mentioned in an interview. Skilled, but overmatched. Desperately needs to hang out with Ed Davis and put on 20 lbs. of muscle...

Team - desperately needs Scoot to win (unless they play Charlotte...). Sharpe is great, but didn't play hard. So far it looks like Reath may be interesting, Walker is a 8th or 9th man. Others need more time. Of course, this could change after more summer league. Scoot injury is concerning, waiting for more info.

since you seem to have your head in the clouds again, krysten peek has been running the draft page for Yahoo sports for like two-three years now. She is at every hoops tournament and knows more about prospects than nearly every scout, and has seen everyone at every level. she is well on her way to being the next mike schmitz. she was watching EYBL games with shaedon last year and was raving about him before the draft.

but sure, let's call her random chic...

People really thought Reath looked better than Badji? Badji looked like an actual rim protector. I get the stats, but Badji's skills will translate against better players.

Badji was better. I don't think he ever got all his blocks recorded.

    Re: Sharpe

Chauncey needs to sit him down and ask him why he's playing if he's just going to loaf around and shoot contested 3s. He looked great when the Rockets started pissing him off in the 4th, but if he's not going to play that way he's not getting anything out of summer league just firing contested jumpers for fun the whole game.
