https://www.blazersedge.com/platfor...nary-discussions-portland-trail-blazers-trade Bulls’ Zach LaVine in ‘Preliminary Discussions’ for Blazers Trade Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine is on the trade block and the Portland Trail Blazers could be his next destination.
My comment and concern is that there was already another thread and he is a horrible chucker who better not be coming to POR. Mods, please MERGE!
Sounds like he'd come to Portland to help facilitate Dame going to the Heat and then the Blazers would look to unload Ant somewhere else. Herro probably ends up with the Bulls in this scenario, if I'm reading it right.
No, it's just like I said about deals never being dead in the discussion about Dame and Goodwin accusing Cronin of telling them he was working on trades they heard were dead. No trade ever is truly dead until something gets resolved. Someone with the Blazers apparently likes Lavine and apparently the Bulls want to unload him, so the prospective deal keeps arising from the dead in different forms because there are people on both sides that have an interest in making it happen. That's why I thought it was a bad rationalization that Dame and Goodwin were mad about the deals Cronin was working; these deals hardly are ever really dead, they get resuscitated and take slightly different forms.
I'm indifferent. It'd depend to me what else the Blazers got in the Dame deal and the Ant deal. And I don't want the Blazers to be completely age 22 and younger; I think they need a couple of guys with experience and cache to show the younger guys the ins and outs ... can always trade those older guys later.
If it was a 3 team for Dame then you'd be left with a vet group of Ant, Zach, Mattisse, Grant and Nurk... and a bench of Scoot, Sharpe, Rupert, Little, Murray and Walker
Zach is a solid player, no drama, good defensive instincts. Better than Herro in my estimation, even if Zach hasn't been properly playoff tested. I would like him on the Blazers, but he's in a weird spot value wise and with our team direction. We're totally treading water in Chicago, but taking on Nurkic or something doesn't make sense.
My reaction would be to be perplexed, because the team needs to get bigger. Would the idea be to trade Simons and run a 3 guard rotation of Levine, Scoot and Sharpe?
he's a better guard than CJ or Ant, but I don't think he's worth this: if Blazers are really considering this (which i seriously doubt), they must really not want to have anything to do with Ben Simmons
Ya I can’t see Chicago taking Nurkic. There would have to be a 4th mystery team Portland, Chicago, Miami and Brooklyn?? Nurkic must get traded in the Dame trade and Miami already has Bam.
