Was begging for Miller at 23.

So: we should have taken Amen and Miller over Scoot and Murray. Got it. Draft graded downgraded to "F".

Shaedon seemed to have a hard time finding a lane/seam to drive to the hoop. He was a bit slow in moving laterally, and beating someone off the dribble, I thought. I realize its a summer league and he was also being careful probably.

Scoot did what we all expected. No surprises. An excellent debut. Just another g league game for him. It was fun to watch. Portland is sorely lacking bigs however. None of those guys will be NBA starting material ever. Walker is a fine bench player and he should improve this season with more development. He plays with a lot of heart imho. Right now Nurk is the only real contributor with size on the roster. How they expect to rebound is beyond me. Grant is allergic to rebounds so he gets a pass…

The one thing I like about Scoot is he pushes the ball.

Just reviewed the game on dvr. Loved what I saw from Scoot. Agree with others that he seems more ready than we may have thought. I liked his energy and grit.

Murray was decent at finding his spots early on, but yeah I was envisioning him on paper as a PF and....not gonna happen with that body size. Small ball, maybe? Grant at the 5? I still think I'd rather have Nas at the 4 in that lineup. And that last defensive play....yikes!!!!

Badji was a pleasant surprise and I can see potential, but starter? No thanks. Not that we need to impress this year, but let's try to get something more consistent in the 5 spot first.

Butler Jr. was kind of fun to watch. He has seemed to find his position more than say (can't even remember his name....waved the towel really well and just had legs like a colt....longish hair and would dance well...google nerds?) Anyways, he'll be fun to watch grow more via Rip City Remix highlights.

Rupert.....needs playing time and will join Butler Jr. He does have some freakishly long arms though, but hips and legs that remind me of Vonleh. He'll get there though. I think he'll replace Thybulle eventually.

Others....Garbage. Especially 57...wow. Sorry to their respective families who read this thread, but yeah. Pack your bags.

Final thoughts: I hope Scoot is okay. I hope we didn't just do some shit trade now. Rest Shaedon.

Reality is, its going to be a long 5 years, as laggards, with this team.
I was not impressed with any of the centers we had on the floor, very raw and fine for G league.
I would have thought with Mike we would have at least one young 5 that was showing some upside.

They certainly didn't show anything that would have made a team drafting in the lottery regret not taking them. Hopefully they will step it up.

One thing I’m worried about is his 3 pt shot. Doesn’t look fluid at all…mid range looks much better.
    His 3 looks awkward

Hornets have a lot of youg C's, would not mind a trade for one of them as they just don't have the playing time. They have Mark Williams,
    [/QUOTE]
Char has 4 young centers, I would think we could nab one (not Mark Williams)

He is a hard worker, given his 2 pt shot looks solid enough, I would think with 2-3 yrs of work he'll likely be a serviceable 35-36 percent 3 pt shooter

Ja is a pretty apt comp and I think Scoot is more physical and a better shot.

He pointed out the fact it wasn't the coach fault for a couple knuckle head plays before that last play. Then Murray made a rookie mistake by not staying behind the guy you hardly fault the coach on mistakes on the floor.

Murray was alright play some decent D hit some 3 and that was good for a player that focuses point of the team. Roops has along ways to go very raw and that's why glade we have a g- league now where can as many reaps as possible.

Yeah we have to find some younger C's buried on a team that need minutes. I think Char has 4 C's 25 or younger, Williams for sure is their keeper, then they have Nic Richards who played well last yr, Kai Jones who is still raw but uber athletic, and just drafted Nnaji, like to try to bag one of them

You know how many great pg that didn't have a good 3 point shot when they came in the league I will name two magic Johnson and Jason kidd but eventually got there. Hell Chris Paul was more mid game scorer and still is the a 3 point shooter. I think scoot will be just a good enough 3 point shooter to get people honest.
