Sure, they should trade him eventually, IF Scoot and Shaedon are as good as we think they are.

But there's no reason they need to do it out. And if he comes out next season averaging 27 ppg I'm sure we'll get better offers than we are getting now.

Calling the floor for someone drafted 27th, a healthy Gallo (20PPG on 60% TS) is quite a stretch.

After watching him a bit, he seems like a good three point shooter, and he's a smart player, but he seems like a real tweener.

Someone drafted 27th? Why is that a factor? Euros often slip in the draft. Some thought he would go late lottery.

I think I'd rather play with a small ball lineup.

I have not seen them enough to comment, but I suspect that if they are converted into a real contract it means the team believes they can contribute more.

Chris Haynes reporting that Matisse Thybulle wanted to be a Maverick and he was hoping the Blazers wouldn’t match.

well, Chris, if he wouldn't have signed the offer sheet the Blazers could've worked out a trade. But since it seems that his agent (checking notes) is a Goodwin, whose agency is probably too busy calling other teams warning them off of Dame to do critical thinking about their other clients' need, didn't make that an option, he signed his ability to move to DAL away for at least a year.

He puts out what he gets. He gets his info from Lillard and Aaron Goodwin.

Fuck Goodwin to the max. Trade his client to another city since he's been such a dick. We paid your client. Get off our dicks!

Free market says Daryl Morey blew it in Matisse Thybulle trade

    by Stuart London23 hours ago
When Matisse Thybulle and the player he was traded away for, Jalen McDaniels, hit the open market, there is no doubt who was more prized in free agency. Philadelphia 76ers general manager Daryl Morey got an egg on his face for this move from the rest of the NBA.

When Matisse Thybulle was traded at the deadline in a three-way deal in which the Sixers received Jalen McDaniels from the Charlotte Hornets, it was expected that general manager Daryl Morey was looking for an upgrade in the wing position, to help get ready for the big playoff run.

After all, the 6-foot-5 Thybulle was barely playing for the Sixers at the time. Despite being a two-time second-team All-NBA defensive player (which as a sub is almost unheard of), coach Doc Rivers had him on the bench due to his lack of offensive ability.

The 6’10” McDaniels was advertised as a good defensive player who could also put the ball in the basket.

How did that work out? Badly at the time, and even worse now.

Thybulle ended up a full-time starter for the Trail Blazers, averaging 7.4 points a game and shooting 38.8% on three-pointers, 5.3 points better than with the Sixers.

McDaniels? Well, Doc Rivers sat him on the bench for the playoffs, so the trade netted them less than nothing:

Is that Aaron Goodwin next to Thybulle?

For someone so upset about not going to Dallas he sure looks happy.

    Cronin looks happy too.

I think fans here are way more upset than Goodwin, Cronin, or probably even Dame.

This is what appears to be the money quote (I didn't listen to the whole thing, so there might be more):

    (from BR):
"The vibe I've gotten is that Thybulle really did want to end up with Dallas," Stein said. "This is something Thybulle's been wanting even before this summer. Dallas has been talked about as a potential destination. The Mavericks have explored in the past pathways to trade for Thybulle."

Haynes then added: "Matisse desperately wanted to be a member of the Dallas Mavericks."
I don't see either of them saying he hoped the Blazers wouldn't match, but the implication is definitely there from both of them, since the only way he could be there is if the Blazers didn't match.

Honestly if Matisse wanted to be in Dallas so badly he wouldn't have signed that offer sheet. He would have negotiated a sign and trade with us and the Mavs. He knew as soon as that offer sheet was signed that we would match because you can't let a player (even a specialist) walk for nothing.

of course. It's all bullshit to try to make it seem there is a mutiny amongst the squad. First Dame, then Matisse.
