Yes, he does. Dude could break a trade a month in advance and you still would act like this since you have animosity in your heart. You're obsessed with us and I see you constantly posting about us. Let it go.
If they weren't at least in part trying to build around Dame, why would they have wasted a 1st round pick on possibly the worst rebounding PF in the league? Because he was Dame's friend and Dame wanted him here. Probably at least also in part as to why they gave Nurk a full 4 year extension. They very well may have tried to trade #5 this year like they tried to trade the Sharpe pick last year....but the cost for those trades was franchise malpractice so they didn't last year and when the #5 pick became the #3 pick, it change the value to the team as well as what they wanted for it. Could they have done more? Sure. Did Cronin overpromise or at the very least, underestimate what his assets would net? Very likely. But it has been reported in multiple placed that the cost for OG last year would have been Sharpe, Hart, Little and a future 1st. In the end, that would have been 3 1st round picks and Little for OG. No way in hell do you make that deal. So yes, Cronin can be blamed for not making that deal, but it seems like it was absolutely the right thing to do.
I'll vouch for @hoopsjock as well. There are people here who have or have had very good sources. Because they don't come out with specific details or name sources doesn't mean they don't have them. And it would be the end of any info from that source if they did. I respect what @hoopsjock or @Mediocre Man share when they can.
I've heard enough in private to know Eric has intel. And I also know he's not the type of guy to make stuff up and lie. He just shares what he hears, and takes the heat on the chin. I think it bothers me more than it bothers him.
Being there when Dame beat the Rockets was honestly one of the best moments in my life. That was wild… I was 11 in 2000, and watched a lot of rough years of basketball. To be there when we made it out of the first round for the first time in over a decade. Idk how much I trust people who would just throw Dame under the bus. I’m talking to you, Sketchy McSketcherson.
It's conflating the issue. Again, many of us have ZERO problem with Dame asking out. That's okay. It didn't work. He has given it more than enough time. He's earned the right to ask for a trade. It's demanding we send him to ONE team--a team that does not have the pieces to offer even remotely fair value for him--that rubs many the wrong way. Windhorst, @wizenheimer's source, and those of us disappointed in Dame can all be right. We are not contradictory.
that's who I was referring to. I sure wasn't taking credit for any inside info, just relaying to some Blazers fans who don't frequent this place (as far as I know) what was implied here
I think we are going to get those 4 1sts regardless of who trades for him. Miami is going to eventually cave in. Their record needs to be better to avoid all this play-in stuff. They’re going to have to work it out with OKC for us to get 24/28/30 unprotected and 29 swap unprotected. Jovic is a must. Lowry’s contract + the best offer they can find for Herro. And they’ll have to take Nurk’s contract. Apparently, Woj says there are teams that “would surrender a good 1st round pick to the Blazers—maybe something more” to land Herro. Herro needs to land a good 1st, a young player (preferably PF/C), and an expiring. I would take an additional 1st to take on a contract like Ben’s. Let’s just say Herro for best of their 3 29 1sts + DFS, ONeale, Clowney. I wonder if we could swing Lowry + maybe a 2nd for Brogdon. I say some advocating for us to get him. He’s injuried right now right? But he’d be a great third guard when we trade Ant.
That is a little too much for Herro IMO They seem to love O'Neale so I think he is off the table. (Which is fine with me) They would be crazy to include Clowney or any young player. 1 first-round pick and matching salaries are all we are going to get from Brooklyn unless they are desperate to get rid of Simmons. Then and only then would we get 2 first-rounders from Brooklyn, plus what we can get from Miami. I am ok with Simmons, Jovic, JJjr, and 3 first-round picks. (Yes 4 would be better, but I would be ok with 3...assuming Simmons is healthy)
Would Toronto say no? If it’s certain we get package of Jovic, Lowry’s last $30m, plus 3 1sts and a pick swap in 2029 with Herro for Dame and Nurk, I’ll take it. I would take 2 2nds for taking on Robinson’s 3 years. The team that wants Herro will make a huge difference. The Nets have been one team I’ve heard that wants Herro. If the Raptors are interested, I think we could try to get Scottie by giving them their backcourt of the future. Scottie and a top 10 protected 1st + expirings for Herro and Ant, would they do it? Ant, Herro, OG, Siakam, and Poeltl could make some noise come playoffs, or Raptors could trade Siakam at the deadline and re-sign OG and look for their next PF. I would try to trade Lowry for Brogdon’s remaining 2 years. I would also trade Robinson + 2 future 2nds to the Hawks for Capela. ===== So next season’s roster: Scoot(34)/Brogdon(14)/Mays Shae(26)/Thybulle(14)/Brogdon(8) Barnes(22)/Kris(20)/Sharpe(6)/Rupert Grant(32)/Barnes(10)/Walker(6) Capela(26)/Boucher(12)/Badji(10) ===== With a decision to extend Barnes next summer. Capela and Boucher become expirings. Thad expires. Grant could also be gone. We also should have a lotto pick next summer. This would also be our available picks (CHI 1st and 2 ATL 2nds pending): 2024 1st 2024 unprotected MIA 1st 2024 ATL 2nd 2024 MIN or CHA 2nd 2025 1st 2025 ATL 2nd 2026 1st 2026 1-10 protected TOR 1st 2026 MEM 2nd 2027 1st 2028 1st 2028 unprotected MIA 1st 2028 2nd 2028 GSW 2nd 2029 1st 2029 POR/MIA swap 1st 2029 MIA 2nd 2030 1st 2030 unprotected MIA 1st 2030 MIA 2nd I’m rocking with this squad.
I tend to agree. I have thought the idea Brookly would give up a first for Herro is reality. But a 1st for Herro and another 1st for dumping Simmons always seemed like a real stretch from the Net's POV. Maybe a swap and a 2nd or two, but probably not a 1st I'm also about 83% convinced the Blazers don't want this to drag on and on and unless Dame climbs down off of his 'Miami-or-bust' ledge, I'd think the offers right now are about as good as it's going to be. The clock is ticking and teams that may be willing to be the 3rd or 4th teams in a big trade right now, could commit to other opportunities and take themselves out of the mix
