It's the NBA Hall of Fame, so probably? But honestly, I would say he is a perfect example of someone just short of the mark that should.

If you don't get your jersey retired should you make the hall of fame?

Looks like he's not even close to being one of the top 10 Spurs of recent years.

    Duncan
    Parker
    Ginobili
    Kawhi
    Danny Green
    Tiago Splitter
    Matt Bonner
    Boris Diaw
    Bruce Bowen
    Sean Elliot
    David Robinson
    Vinny Del Negro
    Avery Johnson

Everybody on that list helped the Spurs win a title except Vinny. I guess Aldridge is #14 unless I'm missing someone? I'd probably rank him ahead of McDyess or Stephen Jackson but perhaps others would not.

Dame doesn't have to look far to see the grass isn't always greener elsewhere for your legacy.

Nope, nor should his jersey be retired with the Blazers.

I know you said recent years, but...

    George Gervin
Artis Gilmore (played for Spurs for 5 seasons, same as Aldridge)
Larry Kenon (averaged about 21 & 10 for the Spurs in 5 seasons)
Alvin Robertson (averaged 20-6-7 one season for the Spurs while being 1st team all-defense and posting 8 triple doubles & a quadruple double)
DeMar DeRozan (only 3 seasons, but is 2nd to Gervin in points/game)

He’s on the cusp. Slight surprise if he makes it, slight surprise if he doesn’t. So I’d say 50/50. As a Giants fan, I think Will Clark was a HoF’er, but he didn’t make it, but I’m not outraged. Same for Jeff Kent. LA is it that gray area, too.

If you’re asking about the Hall of Fuckery, he’s #2 behind Letter 0

I don't think of Aldridge as a HOFer...no ring, no gold medal...just all star appearances, most of which he barely played in so I voted no
Sheed I vote yes...he was in the thick of some of the great playoffs ever and got a ring...made many conference finals as well
Sheed gave us "ball don't lie"
LA gave us, "uh, y'know, y'know"

LMA was one of the most overrated players in the league. He put up a lit of points, but didn't have much impact on team success

I think your opinion is quite a stretch. “Most overrated” in the history of the league?
