You'd think. But the Blazers have been linked with both those guys at some point. With this many teams, just hard to figure who'll wind up where. OKC makes sense because that unlocks a Miami 1R, correct? It'd be nice if we were getting a couple of picks from them maybe in 26 since that's supposed to be the next big draft, but I get the feeling their involvement in terms of what they're sending out is going to be small.
All good man. Many of us are desperate for news, we appreciate what we get. After your health issues not that long ago just glad you are still here to tidbit tantalize us! In any case is there a decent enough feeling this might get done in next day or two?
Not sure if this has been brought up: Dame is pissed blazers are gunshy to sell the farm for him. Meanwhile here's Miami trying very hard to get him for peanuts. If Riley truly believe Dame can win them the title, what's stopping them from (not even selling the farm, ie overpaying) giving us equal value for him? If you are Dame, you gotta be thinking, I guess they (Heat) don't value me enough to give up real assets for me. "You wanna be with me?" "I wanna be with you too." "Then show me how much do you love me." "Uhm. ."
Honestly, my thing is the picks. If we get the right picks I'm happy. One good player in a position of need is great, but those picks are what make or break it, imo.
At this rate, if i'm Joe and sit down with Dame and his agent "Nothing personal guys, just business. If we can't get what we want here, you're suiting up for the Blazers next year and we will look again at the trade deadline" What are we losing in that scenario? Herro and a 2030 draft pick? Who GAF?
Yes. Portland must be willing to bring him back or else they have no leverage. In fact, we know they have almost all the leverage. They just need to be willing to let things get uncomfortable and I'm not sure they have the stones for that.
Agreed. But so far so good. I feel if there's not a shitty trade announced tomorrow we are in business.
