It all looks pointless for the most part. I said in quarter 1 of the first game that Scoot is too good for this. Not sure what these guys get out of it.
I share these concerns. That said, it took his brother a while last season to really hit his stride. I also don't think that this is really the right kind of basketball to showcase what he [supposedly] can do, so I'm willing to give him a little bit of benefit of doubt. It may ultimately be that his pick was one of Joe's last earnest swings to keep Dame and thread the 2 timelines loop...
Murray will play better and to his strengths with regular team. He will know his role and the legit pros will find him.
Murray made many beautiful cuts to get wide open under the basket yesterday and the guards were ignoring him and shooting over a crowd of defenders trying to "get theirs"...he's going to be a really good player within a system that moves the ball. Pass him the ball and he'll make the right play...he's smart like his brother ..they are team players, not ISO players. Murray can hoop...I wouldn't put too much stock in the summer league look...it's a showcase for chuckers
I am glad for this post because I was worried I was the only one having worried thoughts. Sharpe looks like a guy trying to take it easy on younger players on a playground using little effort. I don't want to see him taking 3 pointers and trying to break the rim on break-a-ways. I want to see him setting up defenders and driving. I want to see energy. I am a little disappointed. Scoot- His 2.5 arts were what I hoped for. I liked what I saw and his game will only get better with better players around him. KM - Ya a spot up 3 point shooter with little else to show so far. Batum 2.0 - He looks the part of a 2nd round project. I have no problem with that, but have no great hopes for him at this time. A lot to work with though. Thybulle ceiling? The rest are summer league fill. We will see some on the G League roster and hope the bigs can become at eat backup level in a couple years.
