IMO, if you're a Blazer fan, your opinion on Dame already should have soured. It shouldn't be just OK nothing happened if Cronin shows he has the stones and salvages the situation. Dame still trolled the fanbase and drove a narrative that the organization that gave him the super-max, traded for several of his friends and signed his cousin for two years had in effect been treating him like he was the main character in the sequel to "12 Years A Slave."
Jake's article from just now said Utah might be interested in giving up a first for Herro. If thats one of unprotected Minny one, I'm intrigued.
What has Dame said to troll the Blazers fanbase? I'm not that bothered by his agents statements. I think we get close to training camp there will be more pressure on all sides to get something done. Dame has been very quiet and his agent said where he wants to go, yeah the 1 team thing is odd but I'd expect they open it up eventually. For all we know Dame is possibly currently and will help mentor Scoot/Sharpe/etc. Scoot mentioned they'd had good conversations before the draft. I'll wait to hear all the final news, the final actions before passing final judgements.
Yeah Utah holds 2025 and 2027 picks from both Minnesota as well as Cleveland apparently all unprotected. Another idea instead of one great unprotected pick is get two lesser picks in both years from Minnesota. Such as the worst of Min/Cle/Utah in 2025. But then the Blazers can do swaps with that pick and Miami and the Blazers contingent pick in 2025. Same in 2027. So the Blazer can get the best pick or two and Miami gets the worst.
The "Welcome to Miami" Insta story, for one. The "I'm not goin' anywhere" post for another. The multitude of cryptic passive-aggressive Twitter posts for another. I wasn't even talking about Goodwin's statements. Those were directed at Cronin and the Vulcans. Obviously, those still came at Dame's direction, and they certainly treated Blazers fans as just collateral damage. But I didn't even mean them.
oh trust me it’s soured. I’ve been trying to hold back because I’ve always liked him and thought he did an amazing job representing himself and the Blazers. Hoping he didn’t just BS all of us to believing he was a different kind of super star.
So basically no matter what the Blazers are going to get screwed. The team that gets the best player wins the trade. In every scenario I've seen, by a lot. Five mediocre players stacked on top of each other wearing a very long trench coat will never equal one All NBA Superstar.
Where's the anger coming from? Were you touched in appropriately? I was referring to some people who wanted us to nab Miller over Scoot.
Craig Birnbach might bring less to the table than Fentress. And that's not me complimenting Fentress.
I think the question is, did they offer the 3rd pick for someone who might've been available (Jaylen Brown?), or did they only offer it for guys they knew weren't available to make it look like they tried, and was Bridges one of those guys?
So do you guys think they deliberately wanted Dame to ask out? I have speculated on it but I don’t know anything.
