I'm still amazed by what they can do with CGI these days. The arm he had amputated almost looks real.
Scoot has to start next season. I don't even care. Simons is not the future of this team. Start Scoot. Start Sharpe. Simons needs to become familiar and comfortable with the bench.
IMHO, summer is the time for uninhibited optimism. Don't worry, reality is coming in the Fall. #ScootIsTheRealDeal #GoBlazers
Question: do you think Scoot can get 19 pts, 6.5 ast, 3.1 reb on 43% shooting in his rookie year? If not, then before he’s 23?
And therein lies the problem; the emphasis on individual statistics. To me it is not about the individual numbers but about gelling and improving as a team. Under Dame he had great stats but often we didn’t seem to function well as a team. Granted, we lacked talent but it also became a stand-on-the-fringe-and-see-what-Dame-will-do offense. We saw it with Nurk that when he wasn’t involved in the offense his defense suffered. Likely the same with others, just not so pronounced. My yardstick is not the individual stats, it is how we function and improve as a team. I expect us to be pretty bad to start the year but also expect improvement throughout the year; opposite to the last two years when we have started ok but gotten worse. This is when I’d most love to have Josh Hart back, not because he is great but because he sets a tone of how you give all on both ends of the court.
That seems reasonable that he can replicate Rookie Dame stats if he can get 30+ mpg. Posted this earlier...
I think maybe fewer points but more assists. He's also a good rebounder. I could see maybe 18 ppg, 8 assists, 4 rebounds? Our forwards aren't good rebounders so I could see Scoot getting 4-5 boards. I really think he's going to have some nice assist games next season because he's going to have Grant and Shae and Simons.
The question that jumps into my mind though, is what would Dame's numbers have looked like if he was the #1 option from day one?
